How many days can I stay in Thailand upon arrival?

Featured Replies

London Thai Embassy website says 30 days, Uk Gov website says 45..please someone help me!

1. I would like to go to Thailand for vacation for 2 weeks. I hold British passport. Do I need a visa?

Nationals of the United Kingdom and over 40 other countries are eligible to travel to Thailand, for tourism purpose, with the exemption of visa and are permitted to stay in Thailand for a period of not exceeding 30 days. Therefore, you do not need a visa.

Visas

British passport holders arriving by air or land can enter Thailand for 45 days without a visa (a ‘visa exemption’).

45 days if enter by 31 March (current status, noises being made to extend it to the end of the year but nothing official as yet).

Thank you kind Sir, I am flying before then, so 45 days it is. Thanks.

I'm flying back in in a few days too after three years away. I heard whispers at one point of insurance being required in case one comes down with covid. Is that a thing or did that get scrapped?

Thanks in advance.

Scrapped unless you come from a country that requires a negative test prior to flying back.

Thanks for confirming. Coming from the US, as far as I know we don't need one.

Make sure you have an onward or return ticket before you leave the UK/US

if going for the visa exempt stamp

As has been pointed out already the answer is NO.

Fly visa exempt and you will be stamped in for 45 days.

Take note of @zzzzz post.

Best to have an onward or return return to show airline at departure.

Ask in the thread about this if confused..

Coming from UK for only 2 weeks? Try and get more time. Long expensive flight for couple of weeks.

Is the land entry still only 15 days?

It has been 30 days for many years but they are limited to 2 per calendar year.

At this time they are for 45 days. Ends on March 31 but it may be extended to the end of this year.

The quote you posted on your reply, from my OP, was a copy paste from the UK Thai Embassy website, I was just showing conflicting number of days on the UK Gov website and The Thai Embassy website, it's nothing to do with me, I am going for 4-5 weeks, thanks for the reply though.
