To have Chalis, Leopards, French tanks, Abram tanks and with the Russian tanks they have in the field already the logistics is going to be an absolute nightmare. Just saying. Without the Abrams likely the Leopards would not be approved, and IMO the French tank makers want a piece of the money too. Seems no one is even mentioning the British tanks now. Perhaps because IMO so obviously a token gesture.

No Russian at the receiving end of a shell from a Challenger Tank is going to regard it as a ‘token gesture’. 1

Good to luck to the Ukrainian logisticians. As for the Patriot, I was astounded at the cost. Given that a relatively cheap drone can carry a bomb load, IMO the Russians only need to send enough drones to make the cost to the US taxpayer beyond what will be acceptable. One wonders how much it will take to see a rebellion among US taxpayers at the price for supporting Ukraine, given the Russians are not threatening to invade the US? Real life is never simple. https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/what-is-patriot-missile-defense-system-2022-12-21/ WHAT DOES IT COST? A newly produced single Patriot battery costs over $1 billion, with $400 million for the system and $690 million for the missiles in a battery, according to the Center for Strategic and International Studies think tank.

You assume it’s going to be used against Drones. It’s first impact is to deny airspace to Russian aircraft.. 2

Ukraine and the west should be preventing Iran from delivering these Drones. A patriot will not be used to destroy these drones they will be used to take down incoming missiles, or any aircraft silly enough to fly near a city. Well, the original thread is still alive and well. But some members abandoned it. I'm guessing because their early predictions proved to be so embarrassingly wrong. 1

I think the Abram tanks is a kind of gesture too for Germany as they want America to be seen approving Germany's decision because Russia already saying to Germany it is a dangerous move. I was listening LBC and interesting they had a recent vet Tank commander and when ask which tank would you choose he said the Chali everytime it's range is long and accurate taking terrain and target into consideration, also it can set up 2 targets at the same time. The new Panther tank would be good to see in action.
