Visa Exempt to 90-Day Non O Spouse Visa conversion in Thailand
The first step is apply for Non O. Basically it's approved on that day however is forwarded to divisional headquarters for "checking". The day you apply for the non O you will be given a "return to immigration office" date for final stamp. That can be 30 days later. You may also have a home visit durning that time. Travel outside of Thailand during that time is possible however would require a reentry permit. That permit would only cover the under consideration period. Not advised. If something coming up requires this travel you would be better advised to push the Non O application back. This can be done by obtaining a 60 day extension to visit wife added to current visa exempt entry. What travel is so important. Seems your timing/planning is off -

Thai-Irish Couple Reports Swiss Man Following Restaurant Confrontation
Yes. The Swiss guy should be exported to N. Korea. Nobody here has time or money to waste on such an unreasonable tourist of quality, such as he. Sometimes, some Farang do not realize that we are guests in this country. So, stop making waves. -

The Dawn of Machine Warfare: Viral Drone vs. Robot Dog Duel Sparks Future Conflict Concerns
They will be solar powered which is why the remaining humans will put up permanent cloud cover. Won't work out very well though, as they'll all be turned into living batteries. -

Double-Edged Sword of Global Warming: Saving Lives from Cold but at a Deadly Cost
Massive taxation and the introduction of new "green" technologies like EV's and heatpumps that will be forced upon us so they can sell us more stuff with whatever money we have left. Plus quite possibly heavy restrictions on personal freedoms (that no doubt can be avoided with "green donations" to allow the elites to stay in their 16 bathroom mansions, private jets and Range Rovers). It's a massive grift. They get to take more of our money while pretending to quite literally save the world. 😄 The irony is that it tends to be stupid and (relatively) poor people who believe/support it. Turkeys voting for Christmas. -

Minimum required to live comfortably at a young retirement age
I don't doubt that routine medical care at low cost can be had in Bangkok at government hospitals--having an x-ray done, having a baby, getting a broken bone repaired, seeing a doctor for a bad cold, snake bite, cut needing stitches, etc., etc. It's the non-routine that can get expensive. I think you're quite right that some Thais do not know how to navigate the health care system to their best advantage, but that was not the case with my spouse's mother, with 3 educated Bangkok daughters going to bat for her, well-aware of how things work, and don't work, in Bangkok.
