Phuket – Legal action is being taken against three illegal taxi drivers in Phuket.

The Phuket Land Transport Office (PLTO) reported yesterday (February 14th) that from 9:00 A.M. to midday relevant officials set up a checkpoint near the Si Kor Intersection in Kathu where many vehicles were heading up to Patong Hill.

Three taxi car drivers were found using personal vehicles to transfer tourists as illegal taxis (Black Plates). Those offending taxi drivers will be fined and their driving licenses will be considered for 90 days of suspension.

I guess we have to see it positive that those illegal taxis won't be missed because there are so many legal overcharging taxis...

No word this time if 'Foreigners' are involved...........

Why does this even make the news? Everyone recognizes that the management of Phuket and the services there, are controlled by only a few....encroachment of these services is forbidden. Surprising that these few drivers have not been beaten up for their sins!
