Popular Post liddelljohn
Good planes but quite ancient not competetive against 4th and 5th gen fighters , they make good advanced trainers though and will easily deal with Cambodian burmese and Laos airforces if electronics upgrades are latest from elbit and latest missiles 4 1
Popular Post ezzra
For the needs of Thailand's air defence those plans will do the job specially after the system upgrades by the Israeli company Elbit and without spending hundreds of million on the more modern planes Thailand doesn't really need. 4

Agreed, for anything Thailand will get involved with these will do nicely. 3

Any planes are good enough for that. 3 1

No danger from Laos either. Not sure about Burma. Interestingly I live on the Cambodian border and every now and then at night a fast jet, presumably Thai, does a run roughly along the border, must be just to s*** them off Edited February 20, 2023 by Bluetongue

In addition, IMHO the Myanmar air force have better aircraft and better trained crews than Thailand and even the much vaunted, (and not yet available) F 35 will be of little use as there not be enough of them to make any real difference.

The Yanks had to fire two missiles at one balloon, as one missile missed, how many will the Thai air force use.
