Hua Lamphong or Bang Sue

Featured Replies

I have to take a train to Pattaya next weekend. Which station are they running from Hua Lamphong or Bang Sue?

Hua Lampong,

Bang Sue is for Northern and Southern routes for now,

Unless you really enjoy trains, bus are better options,

there's only 1 train a day, and un-airconditioned on weekdays,

BTS ride to Ekamai and coach to Pattaya and even with the worst traffic you'll still beat the train

I believe the everyday train lease at 6:55 in the morning from Hua Lampong.

I agree with @digbeth that unless you are a train lover it is the worst way to travel to Pattaya.

I did the train in the other direction about a week ago and took a picture of the stops. I switched to the air rail link at Lat Krabang.  After about 3 hours on the train I was hot and hungry. I thought there would be vendors selling things on the train so did not take food or drinks with me which was a mistake.

I thought it was back to weekdays only.

The weekend "Sprinter" they put on was taken off and not heard of it being reinstated.

The weekend 'sprinter' service to Pattaya (Phlu Taluang) is the only route that class of train is being run at all, last I checked in January it's still being run on saturday and sunday
the route no. is 997/998 as opposed to the regular service

The weekend sprinter service was introduced in early 2018 on a 6 month trial. it was taken out of service at the end of the 6 months but I hadn't noticed it had been reintroduced.

On saying that I haven't used the train since before the pandemic. I live in Chonburi not far from the station and used the train quite often, usually coming off an overnight from the north or south
