Electric MG Midget v's Auustin Healey 3000

Featured Replies

The MG Midget and Austin Healy Sprite were basically the same thing, a small Sports car using the small BMC "A" series engine design, from the 850cc Mini to the 1300cc series car.

The Austin Healy 3000 was a different kettle of fish, it used the BMC "C" engine, which was fitted to big saloons, the MGC and others, but at different states of tuning...☺️

My MGB had to be sold on, big rust problem, though it was a great runaround, had the BMC "B" engine....????

My BIL had a Healey 3000 when I was 15 years old, it was a ferocious beast of a thing, sprite and Midget don't even begin to compare.

I had a '69 MG Midget - worth considerably more today than the $2,200 I paid for it in 1990. With its little 65hp engine it certainly wouldn't beat any speed records, but driving while sitting just inches above the pavement was a nice thrill.
