  • I second DHV as the way to go. No combustion, just vaporized THC and terpenes. Adjustable temp to sample the terps as desired - they all have different BPs. Almost no neighbor-alerting smells.

Getting to my personal happy place with weed is a journey, a process, with no hard and fast rules or time frames. My process will be different than others. I've already made mistakes and will likely make others. I'm also doing this by sampling different strains and oils to figure out what strains are best for me for different times of day  etc.

Where I happen to be at now involves decisions about vapes.

Keep with the Dynavap?

With fire or expensive heat conductor?

OR

Just buy a different vape with battery heating built in?

If so, which one?

I'm in no rush on this.

Incorrect. Anyone with a bit of experience would know this is wrong. THC and related terpenes vaporize (not burn/combust) at lower temps than the actual biomass/plant material. After you vape herb, you are left with ~ 80% weight in the form of brownish material.

"Physician, heal thyself."

Smoking and Vaping are completely different, both in action and in results. I'm surprised vaping works for smoking cessation as it is wholly unsatisfying compared to that feeling of inhaling real, combusted  "material". (Maybe it delivers nicotine effectively, which helps those addicted to it? I am a former cigarette/cigar smoker, pack a day.)

Your "update" reminded of Richard Pryor running down the street on fire, circa June 1980.

I think a battery-powered dry herb vaporizer is a much safer option than using a gas torch (while baked), and handling a hot metal tube. Yes, I know Dynavap users love their metal.

I use the Xvape Fog Pro, I bought it here. From Greenlungs I think. 5,950 I think. Great unit. The Pax 3 is also available here, but closer to 12,000, although it's on promotion sometimes for 10,000. That Fenix unit looks OK, decent reviews.

Thank you very very much for suggestions about vape models.

I will look into them

No, it is not. Would you like to check the rules or would you prefer me to report your action to see what happens?

That’s your perception. I perceive you to be snarky, but I don’t make a drama over it. I made my point and you made yours. Move on. (You don’t need to reply. No replying will signify that you have moved on).

No need for stupid mind games.

GOODBYE

Mr DIY single flame is 62 baht and refills are 5 baht. Works great.

What exact fuel product do you use to refill?

Is it sold at DIY?

Does the nozzle fit or did you need an adapter?

Blue is better.

is your mind set on vaping ?

Yah Mon, why wouldn't I be?

Assuming I'm probably going to eventually move on from my Dynavap and now I'm sure I definitely won't be spending 5k baht just for a non fire heat source for it, this gets me into the complexities of choices with different vapes.

Watching the reviews they talk about a lot of preferences that I'm not at all clear about. Like full terpenes taste or not (trade offs there if so). Convection vs. conduction or mix. Puff style preferences (I have no idea). Different vapes suitable for different goals.

Yeah I could buy five different vapes and experiment, but of course I won't. So there's a pretty good chance that whatever (self heating) vape that I buy after Dynavap will turn out not to be optimal.

Yeah I can seeing missing the simple days of nickle bags and rolling joints.

there are other ways that when done right are clean and a much nicer experience.

Correct. And as it grows(pun intended) peope will concoct more and more complicated equipment to consume it, not necessarily because it's better but so they can make more money selling it. Not just the weed business does this. It is quite prevalent.

For example I started smoking shatter 6 or 8 months ago. Yes, I could go out and purchase a dab rig for up to ten thousand baht or more but I built my own using standard lab equipment purchased on shopee or lazada for less than 1000. Works great.

It has almost all blue flame. The refills are sold at MR DIY, little bottles for 5 baht. They are available at the Avenue Mr DIY, didn't see those cheap refills at Royal Garden. Other refills are available for a higher price as well (17 baht?), but the 5 baht ones work fine. There is no adapter for anything, the nozzle of the refill thingie goes in the bottom of the torch.

Edit: Forgot, here's a Chinese knockoff heater for only 2,000.

f ing awesome.

My set up , davinci iq2 on a little bong, burn at around 400-410 you get cool clouds of vapour, i also have the davinci iqc in the uk which works just as good but costs less. Well worth the money in my opinion, being an ex smoker i didn`t want to go back to burning the herb, almost a year down the line using  this setup  now and no craving smoking and still able to jog 8k every morning

Yeah the V3 which I'm definitely considering has an optional attachment that connects to a small bong.

Dynavap also connects. I should probably try it that way.

Does DIY sell double or four flames?

My Dynavap was working with my original two flame when it worked.

Couldn't make a Bic work.

Bought a cheap single torch then the Dynavap didn’t click so combustion.

Got a single torch from Lazada.

Its defective. Gets too hot to use quickly. Vape doesn't click.

I'm close to throwing the Dynavap (which as I said I suspect is a copy) out my window!

Looking into the Fenix line.

Forgetting the mini I'm leaning towards the Pro.

Convection so can taste the terps.

The 2.0 is reviewed as producing somewhat better vape than the Pro but the Pro reportedly is unusually easy to clean.

That tradeoff makes sense to me for the Pro.

The entire cannabis game is quite complicated these days. Perhaps you missed my goal -- to be as gentle to my lungs as possible (without not smoking at all).

On that note, I have bought some HEMP WICK which is great because with it you can light your bowl without smoking toxins from lighters or matches.

i think you are overlooking how a bong works. you do not need to pack the chamber to capacity with smoke to use a bong.

every quality bong has a carb, either it is a hole on the cylider body or a bowl you can lift. Simply pull the smoke through the water and when you figure you have enough lift the carb and pull the smoke out unrestricted.

You also dont need to empty the chamber in one hit. smoke what you want, exhale and then take another "sip".

i have been using bongs for years, and you dont need to kill yourself.

Believe me I know all of that and more.

I was a teenaged pot head for several years.

My current bong is small so I wouldn't be sipping from that.
