GOP leaders like Trump and the gun loving party are the problem not the guns per se.

The issue should be resolved as soon as Trump leaves the Whitehouse

Nothing like setting up your 1 year old granddaughter with her first guns. This madness needs to stop.

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem says 1-year-old granddaughter ‘already has’ shotgun, rifle

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem raised eyebrows Friday when she said that her granddaughter, who is just a year old, already has a shotgun and a rifle.

Speaking at the annual National Rifle Association convention in Indianapolis, the conservative firebrand told the crowd that her granddaughter, “Little Miss Addie” is already “set up” for her future with the weapons — and a pony.

But the criminal defendant with the moral compass always pointing south, said in 2015 “I don’t need anybody’s money."

"Before and after becoming the presumptive Republican nominee, Donald Trump has boasted repeatedly about paying for his campaign himself and eschewing traditional finance models of presidential campaigns".

I'll have to agree with Trump on this one. Just as Nice in the south of France didn't have a "truck problem", and 911 wasn't a "plane problem".

The issue is a criminal one. And biden's incredibly divided nation and woke prosecutors are not good for people's mental health nor are they a deterrent to committing violent crime. I expect this problem to get worse, no matter if the present administration takes law abiding citizens legally held weapons away or not. Criminals don't care if guns are illegal and they will relish the thought of preying on unarmed and defenceless rural folk once the left get their way.

‘Mental Health’ now that’s something to think about.

its the same as road deaths are not a car problem, its the ones that are driving them and in a guns case the ones that are shooting them, the far greater majority of legal gun owners are fine and do not kill people. Those with mental conditions & extremist beliefs along with the criminals/gang members are the main culprits, illegal guns kill a hell of a lot more people than legally owned ones, removing legal guns would not stop  the killings, would like to see someone post where any nra members started shooting people, they teach the correct way to handle legally owned guns

He is correct. As long as people are deeply unhappy, disenfranchised, pitted against one another and forced to be "with us or against us" then terrible incidents will occur.

Ban guns and people will use knives, vehicles, home made bombs, or simply buy guns illegally or 3d print them. 3d printing will become incredibly sophisticated in the next decade.

The key is taking away the motivation for violence. Step number 1 would be to expose flawed political ideologies like critical race theory and identity politics.

Step 2 would be to stop forcing radical ideology down people's throats.

Telling people they are evil/stupid because of their political beliefs or the real/imagined crimes of previous generations who happened to be the same race as them is not a recipe for peace.

Time to get back to MLK's teachings about character above all else. The modern left is deeply misguided in their pursuit of vengeance and only inflames incredibly raw emotions.

nobody has ever said that having some common sense gun laws like banning ar 15 types , requiring background checks and red flag laws will magically stop all gun killings...but if it saves a bunch of lives why would anyone be against that?  in fact all the polls show huge majorities of citizens want these measures...i guess a lot of people didn't like seatbelt laws which have saved thousands upon thousands of lives....per your "logic" we should just say there is zero that can be done to save lives......NRA talking points to get you to buy MORE guns...they don't give a crap how many people die, it's all about the green.

The difference is that cars are now an existential part of modern life, guns are not. A total ban except for police and farmers would not be problematic to everyday life.

Guns are the main culprit.

Obviously legal guns are the big issue in mass shootings.

"94 of the mass shootings in the United States between 1982 and April 2023 involved weapons which were obtained legally; a clear majority. Only 16 incidents involved guns that were obtained illegally"

Only 5% of gun owners in US are NRA members.

Simply outlaw ammunition and gunpowder, make it available only to those who have a household to protect and give them 6-8 bullets per year if they use them.  Follows the 2nd amendment rule of law.   Does not allow teenagers who have no household or anyone else to purchase ammo.  If they steal their parents ammo . they only have a few rounds.

In the 2008 case District of Columbia v. Heller, the Supreme Court held that the "Second Amendment protects an individual right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia, and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home."
