I am old enough to remember real smog back in the UK in the 1950s. No it wasn't natural and yes it killed many people.

Reminds me of the same situation in Pattaya a few years ago, when some jobsworth announced that it was just natural sea fog that was causing the poor visibility. Seems that the most shocking part of this, is that blazing idiots, like Phuket governor Narong Woonciew are actually in positions of power, and don't have PR people who vet the ignorant and uneducated things they say.
