Does anyone know how to contact the UK pension people?

I tried and got a number but it doesn't work.

I used to get a letter, saying how much I had to pay, to my Thai address but haven't had one for a few years.

Any contact number would be great.

All I have is 0044 191 218 3600

Whenever I press the required button, it just cuts off. This is on my UK phone, and also from my Thai phone.

Just tried that number and selected "English" and went into a queue.  No other options were given so seemed to work fine up to that point.

Strange, maybe as I am calling from the UK

They ask me to press a number, and when using skype, it just goes dead.

When using home(UK) phone, it goes quiet, after pressing number.

Oh, in now, please hold, will let you know in 40 minutes!

Goes quiet for a few seconds after pressing 1 for English, then into the queue and various recorded messages (I am also calling from the UK on a mobile).

That's the number for calling from outside the UK.

Work inside just fine (without 0044 of course). edit: just tried with and still works just as well.

Got through but I have to speak with someone else, they can't transfer anymore.

Same number but press 4 then 1.

Tried 4 times but get the engaged tone , unreal.

I can't pay as haven't had a letter for years. May just pay the same account what I think it is and hope for the best.

or write a letter!

..which they will studiously ignore if my unsuccessful attempt to use the snail mail method for seeking a temporary uplift in my frozen pension during a trip to the UK last year is anything to go by.

After 3 days I got through but seems I have to call HMRC, not pensions lol

FPC if you need to know how much you can pay.

HMRC to deal with the payment, they'll give you an 18 digit reference number. It's much easier if you can get registered on the Government Gateway system as a lot of the information you need is shown on there.
