What Decade Will The New Huahin Hospital Open?

Featured Replies

I've only ever heard about this on ThaiVisa, and it's only ever rumours. When will the long awaited new hospital open? How many Bangkok doctors will staff it, how many real specialist physicians? My neighbor moved out because he couldn't get decent medical care, and I moved back to Chiang Mai when the best Bangkok doctors were cluelss.

If you are talking BPH or similar, probably at least a few years away. Until more retired baby boomers make their way to HH, if they really come.

If we say, 3% of population takes ill, it would require a considerable number of foreigners or people who can afford the prices as at BPH.

Most of the foreigners (possibly anyone) seen in HH are day trippers, short holidays or packaged tourists who don't know much about Thailand and most likely would never return.

Japanese for example, on a typical JP holiday, would have max 4 nights in Thai, 1 to choose where - Hua Hin or Rayong. You see them in the streets but they are gone before you sit for your next meal.

Someone, right now, would have to think hard whether to build a new hospital there, let alone a pricey one.

Perhaps so, but the rumours have insisted that already, a new hospital has already been rising from the ashes of a former Thai hospital in Hua Hin, a top notch, first-world standards facility with daytripping MD-PhD medical professors from the finest Bangkok medical schools, etc.

I would cheer to that.

From a family man, what's obviously missing in HH are a good hospital, a water park and a zoo.

Having been in HH recently, there is a new hospital building being constructed, somewhere down near the airport, on the opposite side of the road, which is the main road, running through HH.

They have signage up already for "trauma centre" but the building itself looks far from completion. No clue as to what it will be called or when finished, anyone else from Hua Hin know?

It's the Hua Hin Hospital. They're rebuilding it. It's supposedly going to be a first class public hospital, served by top medical staff & with one floor reserved for the Royal Family. I think it's already overdue for completion & as for numbers of doctors/surgeons/nurses/whatever, I'm afraid I have no idea.
