those fixed crane amusement machines that lift up cuddly toys are back working in the Mall food courts.

Big issue that one.

I wonder if the Thai casino on Pattaya Klang is still operating? I won a heap there one night about ten years ago.

Great job that the Royal Thai Police performed here.

It is well known that Gambling isn't allowed in Thailand and I hope they get the full bill for their activities including deportation and ban.

The good ones in and the bad ones out.

I and many other Expats work hard for our earnings abroad or legally with a work permit, so if you can't, stay out of Thailand.

Pattaya — Pattaya Police busted a casino and arrested 93 people. The casino had a money circulation of over 1 billion rupees (418 million baht), according to police.

The casino was hidden in the Asia Hotel in Soi Pratumnak 4 in Pattaya, said police. Pattaya Police led by Pol. Col. Thanapong Phothi, superintendent of the Pattaya Police Station, stormed the place at midnight today, May 1st, after receiving information from a concerned citizen that Indian tourists had rented the hotel’s conference room to operate a casino. The concerned citizen was worried that Thai laws were being broken.

The conference room had been rented since April 27th, Col. Thanapong told The Pattaya News.

The officers arrested 93 people found at the site. They were playing baccarat and blackjack.

Although some gamblers attempted to run away, they were unsuccessful since police had surrounded the hotel prior to the raid. Of the arrested were 93 Indians, 4 Myanmar nationals, and 6 Thais. 71 were men and 16 were women.

"...transport Indian gamblers directly to Thailand for this occasion, charging an operating fee of 50,000 baht per individual."

That's the sort of gamblers I'd want coming to my casino: already down 50k and have yet to be dealt a card!

Thai police rounded up 94 gamblers, mostly Indians, at an illegal casino set up in the conference hall of a hotel in the eastern province of Chon Buri on Sunday night.

Police said that the 84 Indian nationals had flown to Thailand last Thursday for the sole purpose of gambling, with some of them claiming that they were told by the organisers of the trip that gambling is legal in Thailand.

More than 100 officers from Bang Lamung police station laid siege to the hotel before they entered the conference hall, which had been transformed into a casino, complete with all the required gambling equipment such as Baccarat tables.

In the conference hall, the police found 84 Indians, six Thais and four Myanmar migrant workers.

TMN cable showed the whole event live. Made good breakfast TV. I thought the madam very impressive. Cool, calm and well collected. The big boss cop seemed impressed too. Thanked her for her help. All very respectful and no strong arm amongst the Thais. Indians all sat on the floor looking pretty p'd off. 50k and a bust included. Money back? I should Koko. No doubt they'll haggle the fine down though.
