Popular Post NoDisplayName
What are you looking for in a condo? Luxury or normal Thai style? 3.5-4k furnished for basic room with small balcony and bath. https://propertyhub.in.th/en/listings/ให้เช่าคอนโด-สินเศรษฐีนิเวศน์-sinsetthi-niwet-3500-บ-ชั้น-7---2480170 There are several "mansions" in Bangkapi near the mall with a boat pier, and new overhead rail and metro stations. 2
Popular Post BangkokReady
*Quoted post removed* Seeking a 5K apartment is totally realistic and there are many available. You can even find cheaper. People are entitled to seek out whatever price of apartment they desire. 7
CartagenaWarlock
I know a girl who owns a condo in Bangkok that she rented for 3K/month (she removed the A/C, and now it is a no A/C room). If interested, I can ask her.

Plern
Flat yes, condo no way. You'll need to look off transit lines. Perhaps BangNa and beyond (ugh). Anything past On Nut (including) I personally find slummy. Still, gonna be well over 5k even for a tiny studio condo. If you're asking such questions on this forum I'm making a wild leap and saying you're probably not good at locating and bargaining for apartments. Simple, clean aartments with AC can be had central BKK for 4500-8500. So, imo 8k. I know a good apt block with flats 5 to 6k good location. 1
Popular Post OneMoreFarang
There is an easy solution. Ask your favorite bar girls. In the middle of the city there is one area at the end of Sukhumvit 22 before it turns left. And in areas like Sukhumvit 71 and 77 there are lots of options. 3 2 3

I know that area well - lots of cheap rooms (not condos) but right in the centre of town. Lively neighbours too! 3
Popular Post huahinjoe
I agree Onnut is a good location I used to live there too for years and loved it. Stumbled upon on this decent looking condo inspired by this thread to search some so I found this for example at Lumpini mixx near Srinakarin Rd 6500 baht seems not too bad choice for a low budget but there are plenty of facebook groups as well offering similar propertieshttps://www.facebook.com/commerce/listing/6129437497110555/?media_id=0&ref=share_attachment

dddave
A friend rents a 30/s.m. condo for B2500/m (with a/c) in Phrawat near Bang Na in a huge, very old Nirin development (identical layout to Nirin in Pattaya) so it is doable. There are condos in her building selling for under B250,000.

Jaxxper
Look near the universities. Plenty of condos for rent in those areas. Mostly student tenants though.

swm59nj
There is a difference between a condo, apartment, and a room. With your budget you won’t find a condo .With any luck you will get a barebones room. 2

Popular Post dddave
This surprised me. The cheapest is unfurnished. figure minimum B10-15K to furnish very simply including a small TV. The problem is what do you do with the stuff when you leave? Though the furnished units are higher, still not bad. 2

I can't imagine a foreigner would want to live there in a 5k whatever instead of on the BTS (the favorite) or even the blue line - or even the purple line. Another issue would be not being able to search on foot like on Sukhumvhit and Ratchada. Hot, slow, expensive, random search. 5

I dont make a distinction of where a foreigner might want to live. But I have been here long enough to have a nice detached house and a car. I never knew Bangkapi had no modern public transportation to it, so thanks for that.

There's a new combined BTS and metro station within 5 minutes walk (500m) of the condo I posted, at Lam Sali intersection opening soon. The Mall (Bangkapi) is about a ten-minute walk, with a pier where you can catch the canal boats to downtown. Across from the mall, at Happyland, catch the #150 bus that will take you directly to the MFA at Chang Wattana. One soi over catch the #145 to Mochit station, or five minutes south to Huamak Station to catch the Airport Link or the railway to Cambodia. 4 1

Detached house lol, I guess you missed the point of the entire post or were you offering your house rent for 5k pm? Maybe you'll toss in your car for thr duration of the lease too! He'll need that. 42 minutes ago, NoDisplayName said: combined BTS and metro station within 5 minutes walk (500m) of the condo I posted, at Lam Sali intersection opening soon. So, obviously not *downtown* Or, Mr single guy can live on Sukhumvhit BTS line with all the other farang near the farang food and pubs. This is a new thing, a very new thing and it changes nothing that it's a suburb and nowhere close to Bangkok proper. I'm not stating there's anything negative about the area I know little of it. Although I seriously doubt this of the least interest to a single foreign male, apparently first lease in BKK, paying 5k pm for accomodation. 3

You could be getting new neighbors every other night. By the busload..............
