20 attorneys general bring legal action over 'experimental' sex changes on kids: 'Disregarding science'

EXCLUSIVE – Twenty Republican attorneys general are joining forces in an amicus brief against several LGBTQ+ groups that are pushing to allow minors to receive gender reassignment surgery and hormone altering drugs.

The GOP attorney generals said there is scant evidence that the surgical and chemical interventions on children with gender dysphoria should be considered the standard of care. They added that some mainstream media and activists are bullying dissenting viewpoints into silence, and blasted court decisions for interfering with states' rights.

The amicus brief – led by Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey – opposed decisions on a federal lawsuit filed by Lambda Legal, an LGBTQ+ civil rights organization, which challenged a ban in West Virginia on transgender medical interventions on children as well as a suit against North Carolina for blocking sex-change coverage for employees and their dependents.

As usual, the side that uses the most euphemisms is the one that is weak. By "gender affirming surgery" you really mean castration. By "hormone altering drugs" you really mean chemical castration.

Where is your evidence of a ‘mental health crisis’?

Thanks, doc, for your informed opinion:

Suicide Risk Reduces 73% in Transgender, Nonbinary Youths with Gender-Affirming Care

Transgender and nonbinary youths have particularly high rates of poor mental health outcomes compared with their cisgender counterparts. According to investigators, these disparities are likely a consequence of social rejection, lack of support from parents, bullying and discrimination.

Multiple sources of previously published research, found medical gender-affirming interventions to be helpful in improving the quality of life for transgender and nonbinary youths by decreasing rates of long-term mental health adverse outcomes

Leave it to Fox News to fan the flames of this non-issue.  How many kids are we talking about?  It seems the right has found something to be enraged about.  Hatred for trans people is way up as a result.  But to most of us normal people, it's just not something I think about at all.  Not my business.

These kids need help. Psychological help dealing with whatever in their lives is making them this way.  We don't let kids drive cars, smoke, sign contracts, even if they have parental consent.  So why do we let them be mutilated and permanently sterilized for what may be a passing (but serious) mental health crisis?

Well, in the UK this was thousands of kids.

https://segm.org/GIDS-puberty-blockers-minors-the-times-special-report

"Many parents, informed by trans activist groups their child may commit suicide if they went through the “wrong puberty”, signed the consent form. Others did research: they discovered that Lupron, while used to chemically castrate sex offenders or treat prostate cancer, is unlicensed for gender dysphoria. They read blogs by “detransitioners”, mainly young women in America – where private gender clinics perform double mastectomies on girls as young as 13 (a process TikTok-savvy surgeons jocularly call “Teetus Deletus”) – who later regretted this hasty, irreversible process. And they felt an urgent mission to tell the world what GIDS was doing."

Kids are not allowed to get tattoos when they are under 18.   Have a think about why this is and then you will be halfway to understanding why it is irresponsible to perform life changing surgeries on kids before before they have reached a mature enough age to provide informed consent.

What else would you call it? There is evidence, especially among teenage girls, that transgenderism is socially contagious. Called Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria.

No there is no evidence, there was one flawed study of Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria.  That had so many holes they had to issue corrections and admissions that it was just a hypothesis.

ROGD, this term has no clinical validation

ROGD is currently not a formal mental health diagnosis

The study consists of observations from parents, which only creates a hypothesis.

There is evidence to the contrary and plenty of it.

'Social contagion' isn’t causing more youths to be transgender, study finds

I wouldn’t call it anything without verifiable evidence and a professional medical diagnosis.

But then I’m not engaged in kicking down on transgender kids.

I see this a lot with people in denial of facts.   They don't like to hear the truth of a subject so dismiss it out of hand if it doesn't come from one of their lefty media overlords.    Well, this will no doubt come as a disappointment to you as the left wing media reported on the same clinic too.

You’ve posted three links to extensive arguments presenting conflicting points.

Perhaps you’d like to pick the point you are trying to make.

It's been proven sexuality is defined in the brain, not in the trousers. I'd say that was classed under mental health.

Where mental health resides is not in question.

I've never mentioned a crisis.

What I did say is that issues sexuality are mental rather than physical conditions.

This is why they do it for the young.

I think you'll find he was referring to individuals having a crisis of their own. Not a mental health crisis on a grand scale involving many people.

My comment referred to that by explaining those confused with their own sexuslity have a mental issue rather than a physical issue. Hence, the possibility some are going through mental health crisis of their own.

Go back and read his comment. It's quite clear.

Agreed. Have I ever said anything else?

That's why I posted about individuals having their own crisis. "Individual" being the main point.

The existence of an individual’s mental health, crisis or otherwise, is very rightfully a matter between each individual and their doctor(s).

Not something for broad generalized assumptions by politicians and religious extremists engaged in culture war mongering.

Exactly.

Kind of negates your comment asking for proof of mental health crisis.

Plus quoting the wrong people.
