Popular Post snoop1130 Posted June 16, 2023 Popular Post Posted June 16, 2023 Thailand’s Supreme Administrative Court has upheld the ruling of the Central Administrative Court ordering the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) to disclose to “The Matter” online media within 15 days the findings of its investigation into Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan’s expensive wristwatches, which he claimed to have borrowed from a former classmate. The court said that the NACC’s refusal to date to disclose the findings tantamount to dereliction of duty. The NACC explained that it may face penalties, in accordance with Article 180 of the Anti-Corruption Act, if it discloses the findings to the media. A committee of the Official Information Commission has ruled that the NACC will be exempt from punishment for revealing the findings. BenStark Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 This is a very interesting clause. Does anyone know what article 180 says? The NACC explained that it may face penalties, in accordance with Article 180 of the Anti-Corruption Act, if it discloses the findings to the media.

I would suspect that it means if they expose the truth this TIME about Prawit and the WATCHES, they may be guilty of defamation. 1 1

zzaa09 Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 Perhaps the old guy has misplaced or lost those borrowed watches. No evidence, no case. 1

The second of these rulings has occurred at a time when Prawit has had his hands all but pried loose from the levers of power by a crushing election defeat. The information will be in all the newspapers and on all the television screens in Thailand in due course. Your 5000% cynicism is not helping you to align your musings with reality.

Popular Post chalawaan Posted June 17, 2023 Popular Post Posted June 17, 2023 Section blah blah of the nothing to see here Act. 1976 Laws fixed years ago to protect the wealthy racketeers, especially if they're guilty! To devalue the power, authority and credibility of the NACC before the EC passes the parcel on MFP/Pita eligibility to them to decide? I was reading that the third document that the NACC are withholding from public scrutiny involves the personal (legal?) opinions of those making the earlier judgment to no-bill the caretaker DPM on the watch issue.
sammieuk1 Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 Rollie Rolex will have another dead friend to explain everything after the funeral ????

No one in their right mind could possibly wish to investigate his underwear - not even if they have plenty of time on their hands!
herfiehandbag Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 How long ago did this raise it's ugly head (the watch controversy that is)? Still, time marches on as they say. Tic-toc, tic-toc. Like many other much older scandals of this ilk it is sealed. Quite likely in a teak box, inlaid with sandalwood and surrounded by gemstones which may, or may not have come from Cambodia...

Why has he not been quizzed about banking 5 million a year in savings whilst drawing under a million in salary? NACC has been mired with controversies to sidestep military corruption. Corruption has worsened which makes a mockery of coup against Taksin’s corruptions. Some of the corruptions like Prawit’s wealth was exposed in Facebook. Members of the junta have arranged for their relatives to receive high-paying government jobs, and the controversial project to build giant statues in a western province has apparently involved massive kickbacks to military officers. All this shows that the military government is doing more to entrench corruption than to fight it and the NACC can be considered as an enabler. 5 2

It is plainly obvious that entrenched corruption would flourish under a military junta and subsequent government. The conditions are conducive to a lack of transparency and nepotism. Only the most gullible would have thought otherwise. 1 1 1
