Recommendation for repairs tomicro wave in Chiang Mai

Appreciate recommendation for repair shop etc., for LG micro wave oven in CM.

Oven is about 4 to 5 years old, outside of warranty. Been in situ since purchase, never moved around.

This morning suddenly lots of smoke came out of the back of the appliance. Pulled the plug out quickly. An hour later plugged in, totally dead.

Prefer to take it to a repair shop, not have a repair man come to house.

Any suggestions much appreciated. Thanks.

Ours started to make a very loud noise last week , while i usually like

to get things repaired ,new ones are not expensive ,so just bought a

new Samsung one , 3 000 Baht , a Microwave is not something I would

trust to be fixed correctly , if you must fix it ,Amorn ,they do Tv and other

electrical stuff , but not sure Microwaves....

Had mine repaired at the LG repair centre on the mpat 3months ago. Cost a lot less than buying new but was a long process as they had to bring the part from Bangkok but there is was not in stock. Also their opening hours are not very convenient, closed weekends. Next time will buy Samsung.

Amorn Electric did repair the microwave in myapartment  4 years ago.

They installed a new "magnetron"  which is the main part emitting microwave.

I looked inside to see it. So I guess those part are available in Bangkok.

I do not remember the price but it was not that expensive.

Yep - we had our Samsung repaired a while back - it worked, except it didn't cook at all.  Got a local shop to check it out and repair it - 1K Baht for a new magnetron. If we'd known the repair price beforehand I'd have bought a new one, as the thing cost less than 2K Baht a few years ago - and we don't really use it a lot, either.

The magnetron is apparently the most expensive part to replace.

Good luck with yours.... ????
