We need a serious conversation about Joe Biden’s brain !

Seems like the ongoing obvious signs of aging are not going to result in Democrats as a whole acknowledging a younger candidate is appropriate so we all watch on and wonder if either he can pull it together for an election, or if there is a bigger stumble and he'll either accept or be forced to accept, that he has to pass the baton to someone else.

I look at this way.

Uncle Joe thinks he's up to it.

Dr. Jill Biden his very impressive wife doesn't seem the type to support him in this if she didn't agree.

Will he drop out?

It's possible but I wouldn't bet on it.

Trump might drop out also.

It is true that there is still plenty of time for it not to be a repeat Biden Trump contest.

But that is still the most likely.

You cannot possibly know if Biden genuinely believes that he is up to it, and even if he does, he could be wrong (he is suffering form dementia, after all).

People his age deteriorate very quickly.

Imagine what he would be like in 4 years.

I've said it for a long time, he is not for for the job, and frankly anyone who thinks he is is nuts.

It's hardly something you can even really discuss.  Diehard Biden fans and never-Trumpers alike appear to be saying "He doesn't have dementia it's just a speech impediment/gaff, and even if he does, he's still better than Trump."  I.e. they clearly don't even believe half of what they are saying.

They do? Really, can you back up that generality with some actual evidence. Or are you just another amateur gerontologist?

I think they are suffering from some kind of psychiatric disorder, maybe PTSD after Trump beat their beloved Hillary. Maybe some other sort of irrational fear of Trump.

First you post as a remote amateur gerontologist and now as a remote amateur psychologist.

Bit of a stretch though.

It's a kind of mind reading if what you claim is in the text. If not, it tells us a lot about what you believe but nothing about those who wrote it.

If you search "rates of cognitive decline by age", you'll find lots more.

Says someone who seem to be obsessed enought to use Biden's picture with his alias.

Projecting much?

Another specialist joins the thread, this time one who looks a lot like Clint Eastwood, so of course he would know!

Hardly "specialist knowledge".  Just basic logic.  How would that poster possibly know what is going on in Biden's mind?

I found this in what you linked to:

"Women, senior and elders without education have a higher risk of cognitive impairment."

And cognitive decline is not the same thing as dementia.

"The brain's capacity for memory, reasoning and comprehension skills (cognitive function) can start to deteriorate from age 45, finds research published on bmj.com today. Previous research suggests that cognitive decline does not begin before the age of 60, but this view is not universally accepted."

Even a Joe Biden with his forgetfulness and gaffes is a damn sight better than someone whose name begins with a T.

Also it might help you if you knew a little bit more about dementia, and this is from a medical website: –

Is Biden Suffering from Dementia?

While we cannot diagnose President Biden without a thorough evaluation, there have been some concerns raised about his cognitive health.
Again, it’s important to stress that his symptoms can also be caused by other conditions or simply be a normal part of aging. Only a qualified neurology specialist can make an accurate diagnosis.

I guess with the decline of stamp-collecting as a hobby, people are now turning to gerontology and psychology as pastimes.

Dementia wasn't mentioned in the post you asked for evidence to support.

Apart from being wrong, you haven't really explained what point you are attempting to make.

It's quite interesting the effort people will got to to avoid addressing issues that people bring up.

The post claimed that Biden wasn't fit to be President. Cognitive decline is normal and does not mean that a person is unable to function well.

As for being wrong, I guess you don't recognize when you are hoist by your own petard. You linked to evidence that would seem to suggest that Biden would experience less cognitive decline the average. Also, the evidence in that article is about  average rates. It's not a diagnosis of Joe Biden.

The post said that Biden is in an age group who would experience a higher rate of cognitive decline.  You asked for evidence.  I provided the evidence.  You then said something incorrect about it.

The evidence supports the claim that Biden is in an age group that experiences a higher rate of cognitive decline.  Uneducated people being more likely to experience decline, doesn't change that fact.

You have either failed to understand the article or what is being discussed.  Whichever it is, you are wrong.

I think that's putting it a bit mildly, and if the other folks who support Biden are of a like mind to me, then the only fear we've got is letting a dumb, egotistical, lying, cheating scum bag (trump) become president again – – and that's a rational fear!
