Ocean Fish availability in Chiang mai

Featured Replies

I have been unable recently to find any deep sea fish on sale. Macro some time ago had frozen cod fillets and last year I found some Haddock in Greens.

Has any member seen any on sale?

I buy Haddock ,salmon,Pollock , Sole  from Alaska King on Shopee ,Frozen

from Alaska and Norway ,I buy B 2600 and get free delivery always arrives

frozen , very good no off smells

I found some Cod and Pollock fillets in Makro ,processed in China , looked

very good and were cheap , BUT , when you cooked them they shrank to

size of Goldfish , don't know how they do that, living just about as far as

you can get from the sea , is a problem for good sea fish .

The Chinese pump the fish full of water. Then sell them by weight.

They do something with it , it's nice and white , just the right size fillet ,I have been caught with it twice

first a few years ago , battered and fried it , it curled up to nowt ,had to make fish cakes with it,the

cat would not eat it , then they had it again few months ago , I was tempted and hooked , only bought

one pack this time ,same thing rubbish .
