Here's mine:

1/ Renting a condo or a house for less than a quarter what it would cost me in Australia.

2/ The freedom to hop on a scooter and go shopping, or just for a cruise. Relaxed road laws, traffic fines won't break the bank.

3/ Having a girlfriend 23 years younger than me, who thinks the sun shines from my posterior.

4/ Enjoying all the permutations and combinations of the multiple cuisines available here, inexpensively.

5/ Knowing I won't be shoved into an aged care facility, and fed food that would make a dog puke.

Bonus - Seeing a specialist without BS referrals, and getting replacement medications at pharmacies without BS prescriptions.

Nailed it ALL for me. I do also add that the woman here are fantastic.

What sad list. I take it that many of you really never explored the world before Thailand.

What a sad comment on a thread with regard to things that people love…

It only reflects badly on you.

Thai seasonal fruits

Music specifically Morlam and kantrum

Food  particularly Larp and Goy and Sticky rice

Bum Guns

Nights out on the lash with my Thai mates

My In-laws (salt of the earth)

Lack of wokeness, critical race/ gender theory rubbish

No climate change rubbish/ lies being rammed down ones throat day in day out

No mention of Ukraine

living amongst a population who are still allowed to be patriotic and proud of their heritage, which is  totally different to my home country (uk) where that would be considered extreme right wing

60 year old predator alert ????

He just sounds like a guy with a healthy libido to me , This "predator / victim " thing is a purely western ideology, invented by bitter dried up old crones and those still married to them with its origins firmly rooted in jealousy

There are many predators lurking in Thailand's  beer bars and massage parlours, and they are all female. a 60 year old western guy with limited Thai language skills and some disposable cash is a prime victim not a predator

Shame on you for using that word

well, wherever you may (or may not) have been you have still ended up here.  So where is your sad list ?  Let's see what a real man of the world likes about Thailand.  Shouldn't take you long, may be just a bit longer than your sad comment

My motorbikes

The freedom Thailand gives you, you get what I mean @OneMoreFarang

Make sure you keep those bikes away from your wife. If you ever split up, then you still have 1 of 5. ????

Searching out barely legal females when 60 is certainly a predator, if not whats wrong with women old enough to be his daughter, rather than granddaughter? Perverts and those sexually exploiting poor girls (as he admits) always seem to have their defenders on here, not hard to see why. ????

Let's see - Timor, New Caledonia, South Africa, USA, UK, Spain, The Netherlands, Japan, France, Luxembourg, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand and Canada before Thailand. Myanmar, Vietnam, Laos and Hong Kong after. Enough said?

Sounds like a bunch of stopovers on cheap tickets to Thailand.

What's wrong with an adult male of any age wishing to have sex with an adult female of any age?

So you think it would be alright for him to have a 14 year old then? as somebody admitted to on here not so long ago, then disappeared.

A bit shy about the accidents you have had in Thailand?

what relevance is me having an accident on you breaking laws ?

i had a thai guy go through a red light at sukhumvit and whittayu which i had to avoid and drop my bike.

another i was coming off an exit at night. no road markings and no light or road signage. the road took a hard 90 and i hit the median and skidded onto the grass.

neither of these accidents were unlawful nor was i breaking any laws while they happened.

so your point is ?

What’s the point of this? Have you ever broken a law and gotten away with it?

ask the member who keeps on about it. i am simply replying to his inquiry no matter how irrelevant it may be.

why is the member asking me over and over about accidents i have had here.

I think you are arguing at cross purposes. I’ve certainly made mistakes when riding and happily have not had my life ruined because of it. Perhaps that is to what he was referring. That life here is not as strict as in his home country. No one is perfect; we can make mistakes. More natural as opposed to totally rigid.

My point is I am  a careful driver. Being accident-free in Thailand for 10 years is an achievement.

If you want to do the holier-than-thou act, let me ask if you have ever driven a vehicle after imbibing. Or toking. I don't.

It's not unlawful to use a mobile phone while driving here either. That does not mean it's a clever thing to do.

You're fixated on obeying rules. I drive according to the road conditions.

Can you honestly say you have never exceeded a speed limit?

with the driving while on the phone. apparently there are laws on the books.

https://bangkokjack.com/2022/10/15/law-cell-phone-thailand-driving/

question....have you spent numerous years driving in and around bkk. in the last 4 years alone i must be around 130 000 km of riding a scooter and big bike.

if most of your time has been spent driving in chaing mai/rai then there is really no comparison. if you have then ok.

Quite a few of them were on the company dime, working as a consultant for a month or two in each place. The rest, on my own dime for a minimum of two weeks.

Don't you get tired of bruising yourself, jumping to fatuous conclusions? Troll someone else.

You don't have to convince me anything. Your posts speak volumes, especially your top 5 for living in Thailand for such a well travelled prestigious individual

Two traffic fines in ten years, and you want to tar and feather me? Lay off the booze and pot, you've lost all sense of proportion.
