The only thing political about this is how carefully the investigation has gone.

Trump called a mob to Washington promising them a wild time, revved them up, told them to go to the Capitol and "fight like hell", and at one point used the word "peacefully", though I haven't been able to find it in his long, rambling rant.  That is on top of all the other stuff he's done.

Being a cult leader does not put Trump above the law.

"taking down names and kicking ass" sounds pretty peaceful to me.

It's bizarre how Trump defenders rightly cite the economic consequences of the covid  pandemic when it comes to Trump, but when it comes to Biden it doesn't count.

But it does count. Biden benefitted from the rebound in 2021.

All in all, Trump added over $8 Trillion to the national debt during his 4 years in office but how do you explain the $3 Trillion added to the national debt BEFORE Covid?

https://www.propublica.org/article/national-debt-trump

I'll give you a clue: tax cuts for the rich and corporations.

Easy. That average was about 1T/yr. Same as everyone else recently. Except Joe of course.

So what you're saying is that "15 now...soon to be 1": was somewhat optimistic, injecting Lysol wasn't an effective solution, UV light shined up the fatuga didn't help, and restricting the movement of PPE to Blue States (Fact) was unwise?

Oh, and even before Covid hit, the economy was nothing special relative to any POTUS in 60 years. The Repub tax cut, however, set in motion the greatest increase in National Debt ever, eventually hitting $7,800,000,000,000 in trump's 4 years. That equates to ~$24,000 for every man woman, and child in the US and was the cause of the subsequent inflation. That staggering amount of debt also exceeded by a substantial amount any GDP growth that happened in those trump years (before his Recession), which says ALL GROWTH was merely debt-fueled.

If your neighbor maxes out his credit cards buying a new Ford F-150, a new bassboat, and a barbeque pit in his backyard, he might appear flush and successful, but the mailman comes with the bill eventually. trump's GDP was that neighbor...kind of Potemkin growth.

Oh, equity market performance under Pres Obama dwarfed anything under trump, as did job growth under both Obama abd Biden. trump's "best economy ever" (sic) was just more of his lies and hyperbole.

Incidentally, despite ostensibly being the "Party of Business", no (R) POTUS ever---going all the way back to Lincoln---has NOT presided over the start of a Recession. trump was just the latest in a long line.

In his (poorly attended) Inauguration, trump spoke of "American Carnage". It wasn't a look at the past, but was prescient, as that carnage came under his incompetent watch.

To speak politely, I will just use this word to describe your post (above), which is bullshine.

Next.

I would suggest that your Trump's political solution for the Covid pandemic, instead of a normal public health response as witnessed in most countries, was 'inhumane' and hundreds of thousands needlessly died.

Trump's recession was not only financial.

He also promoted a  recession from the truth.

Irrelevant to the post you responded to and also rather one-sided and unfair.

Few countries have strong state laws comparable to the USA. Which country handled Covid well? Really? Who enabled the push for the vaccines? C'mon man.

Looks like a busy day.

Next.

It's actually worse than that. By continuing to starve the IRS of funds for enforcement, the government was deprived of revenue it was due.

It's actually less but what's a trillion here and there?

It seems his "best economy ever" is just another of trump's endless lies.

Even before Covid hit, the GDP Quaterly change under trump was in the bottom 30% of all Quarters since the end of WWII. AFter Covid hit, he fell into the lowest Quartile.

Quartile this, quartile that. Before Covid hit GDP quarterly change under Trump was not bottom of all. Covid changed all that.

I remember a peaceful transfer of power with no one questioning that Trump won the Electoral College.  Quite a contrast with 2020.

I don't think Hillary was exactly peaceful. ????

Most Democrat fans seem have difficulty in finding the "peacefully" word. Strange.

Really? 8 trillion dollars divided by 4 is 1 T/yr? To be fair, it was actually 7.8 trillion. So it was really only 1.95 trillion per year.

Don't be so sure. The judge in this case has a well-deserved reputation for moving things along extremely quickly. In fact she's already scheduled the first hearing, and so this case will "see the inside of a courtroom" in exactly 24 days -  unless you know something that we don't.  See link below.

Trump’s first hearing in election case set for August 28

He doesn't even need to go then. This will go for years.
