Woman Arrested After Brutal Assault on Ex- Boyfriend Due to Longstanding Grievance
In a case of violent retribution, police from Thailand's Region 2 Investigation Unit have apprehended a 28-year-old woman, Supattra, following her brutal assault on her former boyfriend. The arrest was made on November11, at an unnamed residence in Chak Nok, Moo 4, Huai Yai Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province, where Supattra had been hiding. She faces serious charges including attempted murder. The incident began after Supattra discovered that her then- boyfriend was secretly married. Disturbed by his deception, she sought to end their relationship. However, the ex-boyfriend refused to let go and repeatedly tried to rekindle their relationship. In a move that escalated tensions, he reportedly shared an intimate video of the two with Supattra's daughter. This action deeply traumatised the young girl, who informed her mother. Supattra allegedly pleaded with her ex to delete the video, but he responded with threats. Matters came to a head during a meeting arranged to resolve their differences, where discussions turned violent. Overcome with anger, Supattra struck her ex-boyfriend with a metal wrench, knocking him unconscious. Her current boyfriend allegedly joined in, delivering further blows until the victim was left in a critical condition and in a coma. The pair fled the scene immediately after the assault. The woman's new boyfriend was subsequently apprehended by authorities and remains in custody. Supattra, however, evaded capture until now, when police tracked her to her new residence in Huai Yai. She has since confessed to the charges and is in custody, awaiting prosecution by the Nong Prue Police Station. Picture courtesy of Sattahip News. -- 2024-11-12 -

Young Woman Found Dead in Car with Heartbreaking Message to Mother
In a tragic incident on the evening of November 10, police discovered the body of a young woman, identified as Miss Hathainok, 32, in a white Honda City parked on Phaholyothin Road in Pathum Thani’s Khlong Luang district. The woman, who rented the vehicle on November 8, was found with a charcoal stove inside the car, leading authorities to suspect carbon monoxide poisoning. The scene was discovered at 21.00 by Lt. Col. Warut Phoomphakdee, Deputy Inspector of Khlong Luang Police Station, after a report from Lt. Col. Sunthorn Khamhinkong, who noticed a stationary car in a darkened area along the road. Upon closer inspection, officers found Miss Hathainok reclining in the driver’s seat, unresponsive. Inside the car, authorities found a lit charcoal stove reduced to ashes, a handbag, a mobile phone placed on her lap, and other items, including bottled water and firelighter refills. On the mobile phone’s screen, a poignant farewell message addressed to her mother revealed emotional distress as the primary reason behind her decision. In the message, Miss Hathainok expressed feelings of isolation and hurt, describing strained family dynamics and struggles with her mother’s constant criticism. She urged her family not to blame others for her actions, attributing the decision solely to herself. She also left a request for a close friend to care for her grandmother. In her message, she apologised to her mother for causing worry and thanked her for raising her, while conveying a deep sense of regret that she couldn’t continue. Initial investigations revealed that the vehicle had been rented from a company in Nonthaburi, which police are now contacting to gather further information. A witness, Mr. Chukiart, 40, reported seeing the woman the previous evening using her phone inside the car but did not suspect anything unusual. Forensic officers have begun processing the scene, taking fingerprints and documenting evidence. The woman’s body has been sent to Thammasat University Hospital for a detailed autopsy to confirm the exact cause of death. If you or anyone you know is in emotional distress, please contact the Samaritans of Thailand 24-hour hotline: 02 713 6791 (English), 02 713 6793 (Thai) or the Thai Mental Health Hotline at 1323 (Thai). Please also contact your friends or relatives at this time if you have feelings of loneliness, stress or depression. Seek help. Picture from responders -- 2024-11-12
