You want quiet and peaceful? Keep your gems a secret. Foreigners have a knack at ruining places.

Said the Coloradan who was trying to keep the California riff-raff out!

BTW, Nan is my choice of a nice northern town which has a wide vast amenities a farang would desire.

^ I've been through Phayao. Way too many traffic lights????

But peaceful enough for the latest US kiddy-fiddler. Allegedly,

They go to Pattaya. Too hard to find a bus to Nan for them.

Tell what?

- Many speak and understand English

- Many Grab, Panda Food, and LINE drivers to make home deliveries

- Big C, Makro, Thai Watsadu, Global House all available as well as the usual MK, KFC, and Pizza Company locations

- A nice government hospital as well as new RAM hospital currently being built

- A local airport that has daily flights to many different locations

- Various day, evening, and weekend markets

- Numerous good restaurants with many having western food on the menu

- Numerous new homes available at affordable locations as well as land if one would desire to build

Sadly the only negative I can say is there is a lack of rentals with that being homes, apartments, or condos.

.......anything specific you are looking for or should I use my ESP and try to read your mind?

Upper soi's of Nimman, Chiang Mai. They're practically pedestrianized due to low traffic. Lots of big, old growth tree's.

Some good suggestions here. Will have to check out Nan. In Google, Ampoe Phrao looks like all ricepaddies (or coconut). I have not been in the Nimman area for years. In Google, Nimman now seems to be a café area. Maybe extremely foreigner dense?

Chiang Rai doesn't seem to make it on to this list?

Most of those foreigners are Japanese Instagrammers photo'ing each other eating durian ice cream in front of front of potted plants.

So yeah, pretty peaceful. I just had some ramen. As good as Kyoto. No fights broke out.

Questioning your seemingly erroneous comment about the airports connectivity.

You are correct, my mistake. I was having a dementia moment and mixed up NNT with CNX.

Phayao and Phrao.

Both hotter than Hell...

Chiang Rai's OK. Good market.

Daily morning walk on old airport runway great place to meet local women...
