Great. Nothing more to talk about until the evidence is presented then.

Please, no more talk from the GOP about the existence of evidence that never materialises. We had enough of that from Rudy, Sidney and the Pillow nutter.

For now, yes.

I gave a reason. Care to put up yours?

Yes. I don't see Garland caring what the GOP says. Now Weiss has been 'promoted' to SC then I see that as increasing the chances that nothing will happen and that the clock runs out.

Republicans Are Mad They Got The Hunter Biden Special Counsel They Asked For

https://news.yahoo.com/republicans-mad-got-hunter-biden-222225202.html

Now, eleven months on since that request, the same group can see that it is obvious that Weiss was working to protect Hunter Biden. They suspect Weiss because he was the one who negotiated the ridiculous immunity plea deal, that was rejected by a judge recently.

So, as far as the GOP is concerned, as a US Attorney, and after four years on this case, Weiss is not special at all and should not be SC. Now Blackburn et al are saying just that, as per the Yahoo story:

Attorney General Merrick Garland “knows Weiss will protect Hunter,” Blackburn scoffed in a social media post on Saturday.

“If Weiss negotiated the sweetheart deal that couldn’t get approved, how can he be trusted as a Special Counsel?” McCarthy said in his post.

Looks like Republicans have already made up their minds that Hunter is guilty and are frustrated by their inability to find evidence of a major crime.  Worse still, they can't connect President Biden to anything illegal.

Rather than accept that there is nothing there, they choose to believe in a deep state conspiracy.  I'm not surprised.

Yet Wiess and Hunter Biden’s attorneys also clashed over whether the agreement would protect the president’s son from additional charges in the future. At one point, Weiss said the investigation into Hunter Biden was ongoing, but he would not share details on the inquiry.

It was not just the judge but also a dispute with the prosecutors and Hunters attorneys.

I really don't think the Republicans would make the claims they are making if no evidence has been found. Comer says their hearings have been frustrated by the slow pace, obstruction and stonewalling of the DOJ and FBI.  Any connection to President Biden may or not emerge once the oversight committee is given all of what it has requested - of course the way things have gone so far, if all that information ever gets to Comer, that would be a huge surprise.

Why don't you? Which republicans are on this oversight committee who aren't famous for telling lies. Space lasers!
