Thaksin Has Arrived At Don Mueang Airport

PHEU THAI Party boss/former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra’s private airplane Gulf Stream G650 landed at Don Mueang Airport at 9.05 a.m. this morning (Aug. 22) after taking  taking off from Seletar Airport, Singapore, at 7 a.m., Naewna newspaper quoted Flightradar website as saying moments after the airplane touched down.

 

Meanwhile the Straits Times newspaper cited several news sources as saying Thaksin will be arrested as soon as his private airplane lands at Don Mueang Airport.

 

In his message posted on X, formerly Twitter, Thaksin said from 9 a.m. onwards he asked for permission to return to live in Thailand and breathe the same air as his Thai brothers and sisters.

Ex-PM Yingluck says she respects Thaksin’s decision to return to Thailand
 

 

Exiled former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra said she respects the decision of her elder brother Thaksin to return to Thailand today (Tuesday) and wished him luck and a safe return.

 

This message was posted in Yingluck’s Facebook page,together with a clip showing her hugging Thaksin as she sawhim off for his flight to Thailand after 17 years, except for a brief visit to Thailand in 2008, of living in self-imposed exile abroad.

 

In her message, Yingluck said she understood that Thaksin felt lonely, sad and homesick throughout his exile, adding that she believes Thaksin must have thought for a long time before making the decision to return today.

 

She said she hopes the exiled former prime minister’s return will be smooth and safe and reminded him to look after his health.  She also asked Thaksin not to worry about her, saying that she is strong enough to take care of herself after spending six years abroad.

Hope to see him involved in getting tourism and immigration back to where it was. Lets see.  A big mess of who wants to be the leaders.  Why cant they have written tests to see who is the most capable.  General knowledge.  Science.  1pc of zero. I'm shocked. I don't know if it is a great move because he's a pretty decisive character and apart from Trump I cannot think of another leader that is loathed so much, and the loathers will never change their mind. I remember when this board was filled with Thaksin loathers, they were obsessed, demonised. 

 

Having said that loads of people love him for what he achieved during office in the aftermath of the financial meltdown. Apart from Yingluck I can't think of anyone who did anything for Thailand. Ok Prayut has ordered some motorways....but they were supposed to be finished and opened in 2020....we're 3 years late and no where near finished.

Taksin raised PR from 9,000 baht to 90,000 baht

He was misquoted by the English gutter press. 

 

General Anupong is by far the best Interior Minister Thailand has had for years.

I think the extrajudicial killings probably saved a lot of kids' lives. When I came here they had nowhere near the problem that exist today with yaba. Same thinking that led the Americans to nuke Hiroshima and Nagasaki, that sometimes the noble end justifies the means. I don't necessarily agree with that line of thinking, but I don't think he should go to jail for anything. The trial was a politically motivated pig circus (in the words of Bob Dylan).

Yes I'd like him to crack down on agents.....but he's not in power is he. As for the first two, I don't care, I can afford the increases with no problem at all.
