He was already a substantial time in jail - fail.

 

I am sure we could add 100 other reasons why he doesn't deserve what he asks for.

I'm sure he could provide a billion reasons to grant it.

This guy doesn't even try to hide the fact all this was pre-approved before he arrived. You would have thought they would of quietly put him in a 5 star cell for a month or so before all this.

Convicted former prime minister Ex-PM Thaksin Shinawatra, who recently began serving an 8-year prison term.

 

At least they got the convicted right, but as for the "recently began serving an 8-year prison term" unless having a cup of tea & a biscuit while a deal is cut constitutes a prison term, maybe they should have just left that part out?

When the time is right and it will be forward to the man regardless of your valid point it will be considered and granted.

Thaksin applies for pardon as agreed. MFP removed for certainly the time being.

Hold a 15 year old woman for 50 days without bail for peaceful protest, on a spurious 112 charge.

 

Spring convicted seditionists (Suthep Gang) on bail after 30 hours in jail.

 

Pardon Thaksin, who we've been told since 2006, is criminal who was so bad he had to deposed.

 

 

Does this sort of erratic behavior make sense to anyone? How can it be defended?

The application has been sent to someone way above his pay grade and position.

Some of us are, like you, are able to judge a person beyond corruption crimes,  severe human right issues, election fraud and many more crimes.  There is sonething good in everyone, right? Even the Dahmers, Hitlers, and Thaksin's of the world have a friendlier side. Kumbaya.

Knowing full well he still has a lot of support from the poor,  many of whom will be disappointed if clemency is not granted. Even most sec. 112 offenders are typically granted clemency eventually (usually on he Kings birthday). But after less than 1 month in lockup? You can say this about Thaksin, he is nothing, if he is not bold.
