Weather Info for Chiang Rai Town and Province

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

A website (link below) that has info on weather in the Chiang Rai town area and the province with online data from Personal Weather Stations (PWS).

Plus, there are links to rain radar, weather forecasts, Air Quality, webcams, lightning etc. all in one place.

For rainfall, there are monthly stats since 2013 from a data source about 15km west of Chiang Rai town.

In the "wet season" you can get online rainfall info, and during the "smoke season", Air Quality readings . .

The site is updated at the start of each month.

????

Good stuff - except that it tells us that the total rainfall for the last year is 263 mm, yet last month was 915 mm?

The page you are referring to shows the rain per month for 2023 up to August.

August 2023 rainfall was 263mm.
With the total for the year so far of 915.6mm

Hope that clarifies it.

Here are the weather statistics for the year ending 2023 .

Total Rain for 2023 at my PWS was 1784 mm - about average for here. ( Mae Yao )

Now for AQI !!
Note: some sites show just AQI which will be different to PM2.5 only
There seems to be no standard for AQI readings.
