In the wake of the ongoing scandal unfolding involving a high-ranking local official allegedly organizing the murder of a police officer, investigators are now looking into the wealth amassed by the accused, 35 year old Praween Chankhlai, also known as Kamnan Nok.

This incident has led the police to widen their investigation to include an examination of Kamnan Nok’s significant wealth and assets.

The investigation, led by Deputy Police Chief Pol Gen Surachate Hakparn, is focusing on whether Kamnan Nok misused his connections to secure state projects and amass his two construction businesses, valued at 2.6 billion baht.

The house of Kamnan Nok, situated in the Bangkok Metropolitan Region province of Nakhon Pathom’s Muang district, was the scene of a shooting on Wednesday night. CCTV footage capturing the gunfire was just uncovered.

The investigation’s progress was boosted by the recovery of data from two CCTV-camera servers that had been discarded in a canal by Thitinan Intonwong, a now-dismissed official from Ratchaburi Central Prison.

I always saying that everybody should register in their own city where they live and that everybody has to fill in a tax form. It is the only way to find these kind of unknown wealthy. They pay not or a bit tax and nobody knows where the money comes from. Besides that the registration of cars and bank assets should be handed over automatically to the taxoffice too. It will show that some who claims to earn 25k a month can't posses 4 villa's and 3 luxury cars unless there is something else the matter...

No surprise here corruption from the top to the bottom come on people TIT

Known locally as a nasty piece of work... this time he over-played his role.

Discarded? I suggest they may have been deliberately thrown into the canal in an attempt to conceal potential evidence. However, I accept that I could be wrong and that the person who threw them into the canal was not fined for littering but, instead, dismissed from the civil service. ????

DSI probes Kamnan Nok’s construction business

The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) has launched an investigation into the construction business of Praween Chanklai, aka “Kamnan Nok”, to determine whether it was involved in price collusion when bidding for road construction projects or had attempted to intimidate other bidders.

Praween inherited the construction from his father, a former headman of Ta Kong sub-district in Mueang district of Nakhon Pathom province, who established the P. Raweekanok Construction Company, which reportedly won several road, building and bridge construction projects, as well as providing canal dredging and rental services in Nakhon Pathom and several neighbouring provinces.

Praween later set up another company, the P. Phatanarungrod Construction Company.
