US registered 16% of global covid deaths despite comprising only 4% of the worlds population. Ya think perhaps the covid death count is a bunch of overstated and fake data! The covid death stats are highly questionable, especially from a country with the standard of health care in US to report statistically improbable covid death rates.

World of Data

Your conspiracy theory about Covid deaths being over-reported is as crazy as your Trump mindlessness.

Care to explain why excess deaths during the pandemic were so high, if not from Covid?

The bottom line is that Trump mishandled the pandemic. He tried lying his way through it, failed at that (although he facilitated the deaths of thousands), then he started blabbering about miracle cures - which had tragic results.

The bottom line is that after changing your story so often you don't realize that you're out of excuses.

Trump has clearly shown he wasn't able to face a major crisis without being self-centered, childish, a liar, and also without being ridiculous.

it's just a flu!

Who gets their information from podcasters and why?

Most of the younger world it would seem mostly banned here so no wonder so many are in the dark.

I love reading people spouting off "who is Joe Rogan?" "never heard of him..."

If you look at the numbers, he gets 10 million plus listeners every day. That is more than any of the nightly news broadcasts of the big 3 major networks. He has 16 million Youtube subscribers and 3 billion total views.

THAT is who Joe Rogan is. You may not like him, but ignore him at your peril.

Sort of like Trump.

Yeah, in a way.

I for some reason have never listened to Rogan, don't like his voice. But I do like long form interview podcasts as a rule. It is a refreshing change from the 7 minute segments that are on the broadcast tv networks.  Bill Maher's can be pretty good if he has the right guest.

My impression was that he thinks he knows stuff, but that his 'knowledge' is mostly superficial. Or rather, that he puts a way too high value on his own opinions and take, even when they are obviously off. I think of him more as salesperson (again, echos of Trump).

While the long form interviews got their merits, not everyone is up for listening that long, especially as conversations often touch upon more than one topic, not all necessarily being of interest. I prefer reading such interviews, saves a whole lot of time.

You may wanna mention that Israelis and Palestinians weren't killing the heck out of each other and neither were the Russkies and the Ukes.  WW3 wasn't in the air in the 3 areas of the world where it currently is.  Illegal immigration was under control (in fact, it was a net negative his last year).  Gas was soooo much cheaper...  All told, life was just better.

That's why Biden's popularity is in the toilet and going lower just about every poll update.

So now Biden is responsible for the war in Ukraine and in Gaza! What about the responsibility for the next heavy snow fall?

The US Labor Market Explains Most of the Increase in Illegal Immigration

Many are blaming President Biden’s immigration policies for the rapid increase in border crosser. My colleague David Bier runs through many of Biden’s policy changes in immigration over the last several years in The New York Times. As Bier mentions in that piece and I wrote over a year ago, most of the increase in illegal immigration can be blamed on the strength of the labor market rather than the administration’s tinkering with border enforcement policies.

This chart shows falling immigration for years now. The republican border crisis is manufactured BS in the long term.

Studies confirm that today, the strongest pull for people crossing the border without authorization is the desire to be with family in the U.S. Stepped-up border security may make it more difficult and dangerous for people to successfully cross the border, but research has found that criminalizing unauthorized entry into the U.S. does not deter those fleeing violence, and may only delay those seeking to reunite with family.

And that means issues such as violence in Central America will likely become even more relevant drivers of unauthorized immigration, shaping who arrives at the U.S. border and how America responds.

No, but he sure didn't convince them not to, like the Bad Orange Man did.

But there were those mean tweets...  Sooooo much worse than hundreds of thousands dead.

It's highly likely that immigration was falling under Trump because jobs were falling. Then it rose again because a jobs boom arose during Biden's first 3 years. The main driver of illegal immigrants is jobs.

If what you say is true then why are cities like New York and Chicago crying uncle over the buses with migrants? They should be so happy to have folks to fill all the important job vacancies.

These blue states can't afford the social /humanitarian costs associated with the Biden border insurrection and are feeling it now. Shouldn't voted for Biden who's great a creating one crisis after another in his destruction campaign of America. Trump NEVER pulled any Biden boner moves like this. Add the Biden's border border and immigration humanitarian crisis to his pathetic legacy. I'm sure Chicago and NYC truly appreciate Biden now. LOL.
