Phuket’s new governor arrives on the island

Phuket has a new governor, Sophon Suwannarat, who, along with his wife, Ms. Busadee, arrived at Phuket International Airport as part of the (usually) bi-annual gubernatorial changeover.

 

They arrived at 11:40 am yesterday, October 4, to be met by the Phuket Vice Governor Amnuay Pinsuwan, local government officials and local business leaders.

 

Following their arrival, the couple made their way to the Phuket City Pillar Shrine and the Heroines Monument to honour Phuket’s esteemed sister-heroines Thao Thao The Kasattri and Thao Sri Soonthron.

 

The arrival for Phuket’s new governors is a well-oiled machine and follows the same route during each new arrival.
