Pattaya — A Thai man wanted for several fraud charges was arrested by Banglamung Police on Thursday, October 5th. The officers lured him to meet them at a luxurious restaurant while cleverly posing themselves as a wealthy and good-looking woman on a dating application that the suspect was known to frequent.

The arresting team, led by Pol Lt Col Kornpong Sukwisit from the Banglamung Police Station, successfully captured Mr. Anuchit “Tik” Khamthip, 40, under a court warrant accusing him of scamming.

Police pounced on the suspect as soon as he arrived at a luxurious seafood restaurant in the Naklua sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. According to Pol Lt Col Kornpong, a woman named A (alias) filed a complaint against Mr. Anuchit for allegedly stealing her brand new sedan after they met through the same dating app police used to catch him and had been in a relationship for some time.

Ms. A said Mr. Anuchit coaxed her into buying a sedan, and shortly after he got a hand on it, he vanished with the vehicle. The car was registered under Ms. A’s name, prompting her to seek help from Banglamung Police.
