Police Officer Apprehended for Stealing Seized Drugs

In the logic of some at the top of the food chain, the system punishes the corrupt or the thief in uniform,  not for stealing...but for getting caught.

It could be interesting to conduct a nationwide drug test on all those in power. The results  (unless tampered with) could lead to a global scandal.

Yeah it's great isn't it? That's why I moved here, not for the temples or the "better than haute cuisine" Street food.

In Nakhon Phanom, Thailand, the community was stunned to learn that a police officer had been arrested for allegedly stealing a kilogram of crystal methamphetamine, or "ice," from the evidence storage.

The startling incident was uncovered following an inventory check on October 9, when it was discovered that a portion of the drugs, seized during a significant cross-border interception earlier in the month, had gone missingm reported Daily News.

Surveillance footage revealed the accused, a 51-year-old deputy police inspector (name withheld), entering the evidence storage area alone, leading to an immediate investigation.

The stolen drugs, believed to have been transported illegally from Laos, were part of a larger haul intercepted by customs officials at the Second Thai–Lao Friendship Bridge.

The apprehension operation, led by the Nakhon Phanom town superintendent, was executed in the early hours of October 10.

The officer confessed to taking the drugs and was found in possession of two clear plastic containers filled with the illicit substance.

Subsequent urine tests confirmed the presence of drugs in his system, leading to multiple charges including possession and consumption of Category 1 narcotics, theft of government property, and misconduct.

This incident has sparked concerns regarding the integrity of law enforcement agencies, demanding urgent actions to strengthen internal monitoring and controls to prevent such transgressions in the future.

The investigation into the case is in full swing, with the officer involved likely to face stringent legal penalties.

The missing narcotics are suspected to be a fragment of a more extensive cross-border drug trafficking problem, underscoring the urgency for bolstered security measures and alertness in the area.

I bet my Left one that he's Not the only one or the first or the last one to help himself to  confiscated  drugs.

I would bet both of them that he failed to make the appropriate payments...
