On the canal boats you can have a strong smell of <deleted>e and you can get sprayed a bit with the water. Maybe it was that particular canal. Nice quick way to get around though.

Could also try Lumpini Park.

Pedal the swan paddle boats, chase the giant water monitors.

My gf brought her 10-year-old relative to Bangkok because he wanted to visit her and the city.

We have no children and are not used to children in Bangkok.

What are good places to go?

Free entertainment is fine, but I am also willing to pay some entrance fees.

We had already ice-cream in Terminal 21.

We always have that cunundrum when visiting Bangkok with our kids.

We usually fork out for a nice Hotel along the river with a pool.  Our daughter brings a friend and they keep an eye on the 4 year old boy.

Honestly we spend about 3 nights and move on to Hua Hin where the kids can enjoy the beach.

Funny, we usually end up at Terminal 21 because there isn't much to do for little children.

Bounce on 4th or 5th floor of Emporium at Prom Phong. Loads of kids jumping about on giant trampolines.

You can leave them there for an hour while you go and do a bit of window shopping ot have a coffee.

Or the aquarium in basement of Siam Paragon. full of sharks and rays. They have penguins and other animals too. Good for adults as well.

CentralWorld has an ice skating rink.
