uncle bob is starting to feel a bit cheery at the moment

could be the 3 beers ive sank but it could also be that christmas is right around the corner.

I personally still love christmas,

not so much the day itself

but the build up/decorations etc

oh, and the copius amounts of food and alcohol.

Uncle Bob needs to dry out

I am an Atheist, my family are Buddhists. What's Christmas?

Same old music in Lotus's from three different sources starting fairly soon I would imagine, silly stuff for sale in Makro, daft old films on telly.

Wonder how they'll celebrate in Israel.

Usual fireworks.

Very interesting answer, thanks. So I AM allowed to have a big dinner to celebrate the Solstice without any religious BS.

Of course you can.  And be happy in the knowledge that at least Santa is real!🎅

I know that, and so do you, but do Thai kids?

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I personally don't care much about Xmas – only did it for my daughter, of course, but she has grown up now –  however Santa, when coming to relax in one of the famous Samui-parties after his exhausting sledge-ride, wished to have a selfie with me; a kind man whom I always look forward to meet...:laugh::laugh:

We're heading to Iceland, Sweden then on to Thailand in December./January

Prior that, I work at our local airport and Thanksgiving on, it's 20 frikken xmas tracks on the airport musak, played over and over again.

If I ever meet that damn Rudolf deer, it's gonna get a bullet between the eyes.

So, when we land in Iceland better not hear a damn Christmas song, or I'm gonna go all homicidal maniac

Winters here. Clear skies, with a humidity drop in the last 24-48 hours. Had the windows open, no ac, this morning. 😃 Might as well dig the snow tires out of storage this weekend. Those winter storms are not that far away now.

One of the principal joys of living here is that I can more easily totally ignore christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, Easter, etc.
