Since when ?

I've several friends that live and work in Vietnam, they own cars.

I too have car-owning friends who live and work in Vietnam. But try reading the post again, because it clearly says retired foreigners cannot own cars.

Maybe Phnom Penh, Cambodia. I was there a few times for a few days in general I felt comfortable. Would I like to live there for months or years? I don't know. But I would give it a try.

Vietnam. Cheap, beautiful, modern enough, nice people, easy visa policy...

  • Been in Portugal 4 years after 17 years in Thailand. Cost of living? Very similar. Property more expensive obvs. Food shopping mostly same. Beer less than half price. Wine ridiculous. Fuel costs

Yeah my bad, missed the retired part.

No reason why they cannot register the vehicle in a friend's name though... or are the retired simply not allowed to drive ?
