Popular Post spidermike007 Posted October 29, 2023 Popular Post Posted October 29, 2023 I don't think anybody is going to lose any sleep over this incident, and over this permanent deportation. There's never a situation that calls for violence against the police or immigration. We might be frustrated with them from time to time, and I have verbally aunosed both in the past. But a physical attack? That's right out of a Bollywood, goombah film, that's not a reality here in Thailand that we're accustomed to. See ya! You won't be missed. 18

All it takes is American dollars, $250,000 of them. But that was back during the good ol' days when Vanuatu would issue Diplomatic Passports for money and Vanuatu and the EU had a visa free agreement. This meant you could enter & leave the EU with a Vanuatu passport and not have your bags searched. Just one entry from Peru probably paid for the cost of the passport. EU finally got wise and Vanautu passports are only good for 3rd world countries and Russia. 2 1

True, but these types think they are above the law and back in their own countries they probably are, and violence is the way to show they are above the law, and they have their own small army to prove it. Seen this at New Delhi airport, with taxi mafia. The airport officials very afraid of them. Car and driver and 2 assistants sent to pick me up by the giant company I was visiting were attacked by the taxi mafia because they hadn't paid a 'fee' to the mafia. Company car attacked, all 4 doors ripped half off and driver and 2 assistants severely bashed and taken to hospital. Mafia boss approached me and insisted I take his car. His minions had already (unknown to me) collected my 2 suitcases and they were already in his car. Airport snr. officers quickly / quietly told me 'take the mafia car'. I did and it dropped off at the hotel wthout further incident but I had to pay the fare, which in comparison to the west was a tiny amount. 3

Popular Post bbbbooboo Posted October 30, 2023 Popular Post Posted October 30, 2023 hmmmm... he had an "elite" aka "privileged" visa. The irony of this is beyond words and i suggest pokes enormous holes in the vetting process of the thai elite visa system. One might also wonder how many other similar cases there are ? This is a shocker to put it mildly 3 1

Popular Post Walker88 Posted October 30, 2023 Popular Post Posted October 30, 2023 Interesting how different nationalities of 'tourists' take over different aspects of Thailand's 'economy'. There's biker gangs (a veritable UN), the russian mafia, the Chinese triads, and the Indians. The Nigerian drug dealers---who can even be spotted by Western schoolkids on Sukhumvit in Bangkok, have local allies who wear tight-fitting brown uniforms. All are part of that wonderful fabric of Thai society. Indians bring in a few thousand of their 1.4 billion fellow citizens and start them out selling nuts. Pretty legit business, though nobody selling nuts has any sort of work permit. Do well and move up to fake watches. Succeed irritating al fresco diners with Piajays and Rollekes, and one gets a motorscooter and becomes a loan shark. Should any ill gotten gangs be stuck with money that needs a proper cleansing, there's your restaurant and now Pattaya nightclub. Everybody wins, especially the goombahs (a Hindu word absconded by other mafia types). 1 2 1
Datsun 1200 Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 I had to provide a Police Check from Australia to Elte Visa, they do check, and if you did anything that can get you prison time here, they refuse it (apparently, as per their rules) IH
