Two Motorbike Riders Amazingly Survive After Sedan Loses Control in Rawai – VIDEO

Rawai – Two motorbike riders have escaped from any injury after a sedan lost control in front of them before slamming into a power pole in Rawai, Mueang Phuket.

Emergency responders were notified of the accident in the early morning earlier this week on the Wiset Road. The first responders arrived at the scene to find the damaged sedan that had crashed into a power pole on the roadside. A unidentified driver who had sustained various injuries was taken to a local hospital.

People not paying attention is a bit scary.  As it appears driver wasn't, and only loss control after he realized he wasn't, and over compensated trying to avoid the MBs.

 

Getting rear ended (not in a good way) is scary here, especially at traffic lights.

Thats a busy stretch of road so it must have been very early morning, I live nearby there

The sedan didn't lose control.

It was some (possibly drunk or not-paying-attention) Somchai who lost control.

Yes. It doesn't matter how good a driver you are. You can still be wiped out at any moment. Exciting living here, isn't it.

On of the reasons I don’t ride at night (in the dark).

 

But… idiots in their phones.. or drunk / or both…

Higher probability of drunks at night.

PPL driving while on their phones is a real issue.

Another normal day in the LOS (Land Of Smash-ups).  Glad the motorcyclist weren't killed.  Of course we'll hear this from the hospital bed of the driver - "Brake Failure."

Actually I liked the outcome.  No injury to the motorcycle drivers.  One less insane Thai driver on the road.

Turns around and slowly moves the bike away from the immediate scene, is still there, probably parked, when the CCTV cuts off.

But at least he made the effort to avoid them. He did a good thing in the end. Everyone makes mistakes, but he made an effort to correct it.

Every day I see tourists in Phuket on their illegally rented motorbikes either talking, texting or looking at their phones.  It's going to be a very bloody "high season".  I've even seen people walking across the street looking at their phones and not paying attention to the cars/bikes/buses/taxis whizzing buy.  I'm amazed more people aren't taken out. Phones should have a governor on them, if you are moving then it shouldn't work.  (in my dreams).
