A female leopard, estimated to be between six and seven years old, was found deceased near Ban Krang unit in Kaeng Krachan National Park, officials reported on November 2.

The leopard, which had been discovered in critical condition with multiple injuries, succumbed to its wounds following a suspected encounter with other wild animals.

Mr. Somjet Chantan, Director of the Conservation Area Administration Office No. 3 in Phetchaburi, said that park rangers located the animal’s body a short distance from their station.

Veterinarian Mr. Anurak Sukulpong, alongside the district veterinary staff, performed an examination and determined that the leopard had sustained a total of 42 wounds from bites and scratches across its body, indicative of violent skirmishes with other animals.

Beautiful animal. Hopefully she left some healthy offspring behind during those years.👍
