Why do people in the world like Taiwanese people more then Chinese people?

Taiwanese don't have their small kids pee in a poolside shrubbery box at the Westin Grande Sukhumvit like it is totally normal behaviour when fully equipped toilets are a few short steps away.

Historically Taiwan has been controlled by many countries, both Asian and European over many centuries.

I said China "Believes" it has historical rites going back to the Qing dynasty, and will in time try to take control once again.

In the same way it now believes it owns the South China sea...

Agreed and just as any other country in the same situation would most certainly do.

Rather an overreach of authority I believe.

Indeed so, to say the least, but not surprising.

The CCP have a very different perception of 'ownership'.

This only the beginning. Australia was heavily sanctioned by China for standing up for themselves. Thailand will face the same. So who in Thailand will call the shots? "Tourism"? .. or "Self respect."

Is there a difference between news coverage and propaganda for the Chinese government?  This will be difficult but it may be time for the Chinese to accept Taiwan as is as and move on.

They are never going to do that unfortunately.

This is why they create such dramas with any country having relations with Taiwan. They are determined to take it, just as they are determined to push everybody out of the South China seas.

The massive military build up is not for no good reason.

It has never been under the control or ruled by the CCP , but they don't let facts or the truth get in the way of anything, especially now they have the sad faced despot who has effectively declared himself leader for life, along with Kim Jong Un, Vladimir Putin, the Iranian Ayatollahs etc

They lied and destroyed Hong Kong's democracy and are hell-bent on doing the same in Taiwan.

They've been waiting for this have the Chinese, ever since the days of the clown Mao Tse Tung, whose policies led to the deaths of millions of Chinese.

Meanwhile in Cambodia massive dry docks for large ships are getting prepared. This gives a springboard for further Chinese expansion.

Hun Sen saying it's for the use of the tiny Cambodian Navy which doesn't have ships bigger than 50 metres long!!

Such a proud people to become 走狗 "running dog" of a foreign Empire?

Pretty much every country in the world kow tows financially to either China, the US or both. The US is losing ground though - first it sent its industry to China, then its money to buy the things it used to make.

They did not like anything they stood for, or had to say, they realized Mao was a desperado dictator,

You need to refresh your Chinese history. They did not like communism but liked authoritarian rule.  Do you remember the White Terror Period and the role of Dai Li in Chiang Kai-shek's party? He was like Chile's Pinochet, a non-communist, brutal dictator. Caused trouble as far as Myanmar. I do agree that Taiwan has gone through a series of legislatures in the last two decades to redress and investigate some of its brutal human rights violations.  Mao's terror was unleashed by people, but Chiang Kai Sheiks terror was unleashed by his party's secret police. Both wanted to impose their version of dictatorship on the Chinese people, and Chiang's dictatorship is authoritarian capitalism.

China is biding it's time, but I think it will make a move on Taiwan at some point.

It do believe Taiwan is historically part of mainland China,  and China it wants it to stop trying to be an independent nation and conform to the CCP

Most likely in my opinion China will be "biding it's time" for quite a while

In a best case scenario to annex Formosa CCCP must utterly destroy the island then inherit 25 million mostly hostile people grown up not having been fed CCP propaganda for the past 75 years. This is after the PLA Navy and Air forces take a severe drubbing. Worst case the world is destroyed.

All this for National prestige? Remember Xi and any successor leaders primary motivation is continuation of complete one party dominance. I think continuing the Taiwan issue serves domestic propaganda purposes well. Maybe Kissinger does not agree he said a few years ago China would not attack for 10-20 years. He went there this year and was treated with extreme respect maybe he has been co-opted. Recently seems  he has changed his tune

"historically" controlled by many countries but never by China... prior to Xi there were other Chinese rulers, none had the Taiwan obsession as Xi has,  some recent Chinese rulers Deng Xiaoping, Hu Jintao never worry too much about Taiwan, they worried about keeping the country safe and stable, not looking for antagonism contrary to Xi. Back in 2015 Xi was asked about his intentions in SCS if he intended to built military bases there he point blank said no, look at it now, very similar to Putin when asked if he was invading Ukraine or back in 2014 if he was invading Crimea in both cases the answer was no, for me Xi has absolutely no credibility, lived there long enough to know how it works, Xi claimed that China would rise peacefully

I get what you're saying 100pc. It isn't representative of the Chinese people, who are on the whole decent, hardworking folk. Like everywhere, including Thailand, it's the idiots at the top letting the country down.

I've no issue with Chinese people. The policies of their bully boy leaders leaves me feeling sick of them.

They need to be told at every corner, clear off and be quiet.
