The Public Health Services Department of Hua Hin Municipality has initiated a mosquito fogging campaign in the Petcharat Srasong community area, near Chomsin Market. This move follows a confirmed report of Zika virus infection within the area.

The campaign, which involves smoke fogging and fine mist spraying, is scheduled to cover a radius of 100 meters from the focal point of the infection.

The operations are set for November 24, 2023, at both 05:00 AM and 05:00 PM, followed by additional sessions on December 1 and December 8, 2023, each at 05:00 PM.

Residents of the targeted area are advised to prepare their surroundings and secure their belongings at least 30 minutes before and after the scheduled pesticide spraying. The treated areas will be safe for normal use and cleaning 30 minutes post-spraying. In addition to these measures, the municipality is urging residents to actively participate in eliminating breeding grounds for Aedes mosquitoes.

The mosquitos I encountered last night, judging from their size,  have swing-wings and a crew of two. It's going to take more than a fogging mist to bring them down.
