Pattaya, a bustling city renowned for its vibrant tourist attractions, is adjusting to the government's policy shift after announcing plans to extend the closing hours of entertainment venues in the main tourist area from 01:00 AM to 04:00 AM starting December 15.

Mr. Damrong Kiat, the Secretary of the Pattaya City Council, addressed concerns during a council meeting, emphasizing his role as the entertainment venue operator secretary in Pattaya, reported 77kaoded.

He explained that the new government intends to extend the closing hours to 04:00 AM in the primary tourist zone, including Pattaya. A formal decision on this matter is expected on December 15. While this extension could boost tourism and generate additional revenue, it may also pose challenges, particularly in residential areas where loud noises may disturb the community.

Mr. Damrong Kiat further discussed issues raised by tourists, highlighting the significant problem of foreign street children selling flowers along Walking Street, a major tourist hub. This situation has caused considerable annoyance and discomfort. He questioned why authorities allowed such activities, urging Pattaya to coordinate efforts to address and eliminate these issues from the area.

...use the "additional revenue" to protect childhood! those  "foreign children selling flowers" need money to eat, in fact to survive.
