Wy would  anyone be worried about this .

In the Netherlands when I was living there we had Amsterdam and Rotterdam Red Light districts and Coffee(Weed )shops and Sex/Toy shops Everywhere.

That's were the Tourists  went .

So Figure It's an Advertisement

Maybe there will be direct flights from Germany to Pattaya soon - just to uptake the demand.

I wonder whether DW would entertain an investigation into just what proportion of the "sex tourists" are Germans, and perhaps more pertinently, how many of the Go-Gos and bars have an element ( however disguised) of German ownership and management.

I remember West Germany in the 1970s and 80s. Just about every city of any size had at least one street with purpose built "contact centres" bars and shop windows. Pride of place in Hannover was held by a multi storey knocking shop entirely staffed by Thai women!

Aids, unrestricted internet porn and cheap overseas flights put the boot into all that.

In fact, I saw a segment of the DW "oh look what we found here" on X/Twitter. They did an interview with a German guy, somewhere under the umbrellas of Pattaya beach. What percolated was that the report (more or less openly) said "this doesn't conform with German/Western morality standards" - need I say more? As if Germany didn't have more pressing concerns, such as co-paying for human slaughter in Ukraine, a government that's destroying the local industry, unlimited migration by non-refugees (I could go on for hours).

May be the Thais should make a documentary about the sex trafficking and abuse in the Red Light areas of Hamburg and Berlin.

It is the truth.. as long as I know Thailand is famous for its sex industry and Pattaya is the sex capital of the world... Although according to the police there are no hookers there, people all over the world know that there are plenty sex workers in Thailand. But by brainwashing people how good and perfect the country is they have to deny it and that is why this kind documentaries are blocked, forbidden or censored. It could open eyes... And what would Thailand have been without sex paradise? Ttourism was built on it

Thailand should advertise Pattaya as the hooker and ladyboy capital of the world. Promote it.

And the slogan should be "No matter how fat or ugly you are, and no matter how poor your personal hygiene, you can still get laid."

You're distracting from the topic. Furthermore, it is not true that almost every German city has “contact centers”. Not every city is like Hamburg or Frankfurt. Hannover is a really big city, but there is not so much happening. A single street with few brothels. Prostitution is prohibited in many cities, in some cities it is only possible outside in commercial areas.

The DW clip also shows many German men, who are in large numbers in Pattaya. So you can't say that DW reports one-sidedly.

Most people across the world would think it is wrong, utterly.

But the only way they could fix it would be to bring in something as big as Disney. It would attract  Indian families, boost domestic demand and offer jobs to young Thai graduates.

What do you mean? Pattaya, parts of Bangkok, Phukeit and definately Chiang Mai are already a Disneyland, Chinese style " we are playing THai culture..." and there is no sex, not allowed...............if there is, don't say it, the fundamenrtalist blind people need to pray and .........ach, whatever. Get real people and quit repressing free speech, free ideas and free lifestyle......sex is not wrong in case you think so, and even living off it is not as long as rules of human rights are regarded. Aaah, what was that again? No, nothing to do with little brown envelopes......and one cannot eat it either.....

I’m sure TAT will use this as an excuse when they don’t hit their over the top estimations of tourists this year. They will always find a reason, and one just jumped into their laps.

I believe Florida, USA may have an amusement part for sale... Shipping and import duties may be a challenge though...

In your modest opinion. Nothing like a huge generalisation in the conversation. Disney!  the hypocrisy is amazing

Oh God, here we go again....Earth to Pattaya, please note, no one cares ok.  We all know what goes on here.  It is no secret.  The song "One Night In Bangkok" settled that issue a long time ago.

NO ONE  CARES!  GET OVER YOURSELVES.

The Europeans are bored, vapid, broke and useless.  The cannot fight their own wars and have a population issue with declining birthrate and an ideological war of religion to figure out.

Sex in Pattaya is not on their agenda right now.  OK!

Move on.

How about focusing on getting your plumbing fix in the bathrooms in Pattaya and stop watching Youtube!

She also acknowledged that despite Pattaya’s evolution into a destination offering a diverse range of tourist attractions for families and the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) segment, it remains a challenge to fully eradicate the city’s sex tourism reputation.

Gotta keep the GDP up.
