Paetongtarn Shrugs Off Questions About Her Father’s ‘Illnesses’

PHEU THAI LEADER PAETONGTARN Shinawatra, daughter of de facto party boss-cum-convict at large Thaksin Shinawatra, today (Dec.5) shrugged off reporters’ refreshed inquiry about his “illnesses” the symptoms and details of which have remained a mystery for more than three months now.

 

Paetongtarn declined to respond to the reporters’ questions about the “illnesses” of her father who has been staying in a tight-security private ward at Police Hospital since Aug.22, the date on which he returned from 17 years in self-exile abroad.

 

She shook her head, wagged her forefinger and smiled when asked by the reporters to comment on her father’s “illnesses” amidst sustained allegations that the de facto Pheu Thai boss-cum-convict at large had merely feigned it all to keep himself from being literally put behind bars.

 

Thaksin who had been earlier convicted as guilty of a few counts of misconduct in office during his previous premiership and sentenced to eight years in prison is more or less speculated to be released on parole no later than February after his jail term has been already curtailed by royal pardon to only one year.

Why would it be possible that Thaksin can be released on Parole as early as February. 

He has done No time in jail.

I didn't think that a Holiday in hospital counted as Jail time.

Why is everyone complaining about this. Imagine you’re convicted of a major crime. Here you can pay someone off and you’re gone. In most farangland you’ll go straight to jail.

What do you suggest people do? In a country where some, including criminals, even murderers, are untouchable. It's Thailand and no-one expects anything different, nor that they can do anything to change it. Any time 'the people' raise their voice they are quickly, sometimes brutally, shut down. No different to Russia or China or any other place where democracy is absent.

We consistently allow a group of, for example, 20 people to overrule, steal, cheat and connive another group that usually outnumbers them by millions.

Come the next election they will be wiped out along with the other traitors who stole the election from the winning party Move Forward ,the Thai people will not forget this farce it stinks to high heaven . The current unelected PM continues to hide by visiting countries as we all know it is not he who is running the country it’s his puppet master trouble is he’s been in exile for 17 years the youth of today are not stupid they want rid of the old guard and it is they who will ensure that a Democratic Party that wants change will soon get into power
