Side effect from virus is bad bloating.

Featured Replies

Caught this virus from my Thai partner about 10 days ago, she has quickly recovered but mine won't let go. I assume it's some kind of flu strain, but without any cold or cough, just a bad headache and achey bones. A couple of the side effects are wanting to sleep all day and chronic bloating, so absolutely no appetite. Anyone had anything similar?

If it doesn't clear up within a few days a hospital visit will be in order.

If I had those symptoms, I'd be hoofing it down to the hospital right now, and no assuming that it was something my Thai partner recovered from.

Not assuming, she has recovered.

You're assuming you have the same thing she did.

Seems pretty strange that I got almost identical symptoms as she had, except I have bloating. All within a few days.

Sounds like adenovirus, rotavirus or norovirus. Adenovirus is pretty contagious. Depending on your age and health, getting medical attention would probably be a good thing.

Don't have any symptoms of adenovirus, no coughing, sore throat etc.

Similar last week 3 days just needing to sleep all the time, head woozy, no bloating.

Went as quick as it arrived!

Open your lunchbox is not funny Sure, if you don't live alone.

Take some chewable Simeticon tablets. Will help.🧑‍🎄

One of the Pattaya Forums had a post from the Admin. advising that loads of people in Pattaya have a virus with symptoms as you mention.

Most of those that get the virus are suffering for 2 - 3 weeks.

Older people are advised to visit hospital for an anti biotic.

Had the same thing last month, Dr said it was Dengue and no medicine will cure it. It's a virus and the body needs to fight it. Zinc and Vit C helps getting over it a little sooner.

Antibiotics do not help with viruses and they slow down your recovery by suppressing your immune system

I would not let myself suffer an illness for ten days, I'd be looking for a diagnosis and treatment after 2-3 days.

Sounds like COVID.

I just wanted to sleep.  Blunt headache for days.  Finally got a test kit and it was COVID.  Very contagious, everyone caught it in the household.  Sick for 3 weeks, still lingering stuffy nose and cough.
