The Shadow Strays is an Indonesian film on netflix focusing on pure action with almost no plot or character development. Stars Aurora Ribero as a trained assassin who is suspended after a botched job in Tokyo and accidentally meets up with a young boy she's determined to save from death at the hands of the mafia.  In the vein of the Iko Iwais (the Indonesia Tony Jaa) films, there's a lot of hand-to-hand combat, shooting, acrobatics, explosions, the whole nine yards. You might wonder how a girl could possibly beat all those men but by the end she really does look like a demon.

I discovered a good movie on iPlayer when I was searching through their list of movies and it was called, "Harriet", based on a true story about a black slave who escaped and helped many others to freedom. I won't give it all away although there is much more to it than that and the credits at the end give a much more detailed background of this particular person and their bravery and exploits – – well worth a watch IMO.

Just horrible. Even if you're sympathetic to his political views, he is such an a$$hole, it's painful to watch. Plus he looks like a serial killer.

The trailer itself was all it took

Try Disclaimer (Kate Blanchett & Kevin Kline).  Slightly complex, but well acted and good analysis/representation of revenge.

Also, Sweetpea - very enjoyable female version of Dexter. (Is it "correct" to violently murder someone who is obviously a total a$$hole?)

Am I Racist?

What serial killer wore long hair with a man bun?

Gets good reviews and favorable receptions at theaters.

Hilarious movie. Well worth the watch and everyone should see it.

This movie is excellent. My wife and I saw it over the weekend, and we haven't laughed this much in a long time at the theatre. We both thought it was hilarious.

It's also great to watch it in theaters because watching it with a crowd just enhances the experience. Everyone was laughing the whole time

There are some really hilarious scenes and some good chuckles throughout.

A recommended watch.

Brilliantly sarcastic take on the racism and hate industry

This is the first movie in a long time where the arguments being presented are so absurd - so logically cork screwy -that laughter rolled through the cinema. . . . This film sets out to show the DEI industry (and cult) in all its intellectual shoddiness.

I downloaded and watched a movie from way back, called "The Sting" and I did remember some aspects of it, so thought I'd give it a try and was pleased by the fact that there was so much of it I had forgotten, and it became like a new movie!

A very pleasant evening's viewing and they certainly don't make movies like that anymore, with the exception of a few in recent years.

Just to add that I did watch a movie which starred Val Kilmer, mentioned by a poster here, called, "Twixt" and it was directed by Francis Ford Coppola, who must have been on drugs when he directed this mishmash of a movie.

Interesting in parts, confusing in others and that's probably why it got a low IMDb rating.

Ellis    3 part Crime Drama    Chanel 5 ...IMDB 6.2

The write ups aren't that great--She gets sent to another Police station to help with an unsolved Murder

& the police there don't like the idea that she and her partner who are both women,

have come to solve it-and she is Blackas well,

and they don't from that area ....so what do they know etc etc.....

Sounds like the sort of script that could have been written 30 years ago--- anyway episodes out 4-11-18 Nov

Might Be Good..........  :omfg:

Think I could bet a brick to London that they will solve the crime that the others couldn't even though their "Just" women.

Yeh, looks okay, well the trailer is “ Chilling “ , “ Riveting “, “ Thrilling “ so might be worth a watch.

At least they didn’t go the whole way with a young sexy black woman  😀

Far from fans, but I think worth if for Beatles fans.

I hadn't known the story of the Astrid -- Stuart relationship before watching the movie so that made it more special for me as it's quite a story.

Now for something completely different – – if you want to watch a movie which is at once very different, shocking, alarming and at times erotic, then the movie, "The Substance" is one for you!

Once you get into it, you really can't let go and full marks to Demi Moore for allowing herself to be filmed in the nude in this movie, and also to Margaret Qualley for the same reason who by the way is a lot younger.

A movie of which I have never seen the like before!

No Beatles music other than covers they did, it's not endorsed by the surviving Beatles

Imo a very good movie that focused more on Brian Epstein than the Beatles, although they (the actors) made the movie as well.

It was my era (born in 1947) and the songs in it really did bring back memories although at the time I/we had no idea of Brian Epstein's darker side....a sad ending for a talented and driven man.
