Danderman123
Neal Schon. Santana, Journey and Bad English. Turned down a job with Derek and the Domino's when he was 17.

It's easy to rattle off the usual suspects in this type of thread, but lets here it for the unsung guitar hero's. Steve is one of them. Ps got to post it, check this out. cdemundo
Duane Allman and Dicky Betts playing off each other in the Allman Brothers Band, nothing else like it. Someone told Duane he was a great guitarist, he answered "No, I'm a famous guitarist, Dicky Betts is a great guitarist". So many great players, but I think the interplay between these two is something special.

Popular Post KhunLA
some of the less known (maybe) folks I've seen, as solo acts, at small venues: Alvin Lee Rory Gallagher Nils Lofgren Jonny Lang Kenny Wayne Shepperd I'm familiar with most blues, rock, some jazz players and some 'grunge' / STP type bands. Not so familiar extreme heavy metal, punk guitar plays. 1

I heard an interview with Gregg, and he said he started playing guitar about a year before Duane, and in week Duane was already better.
tubby johnson
Robin Guthrie of the Cocteau Twins. He has said in interviews that he really isn't a good guitarist at all, but I find the beauty and creativity of his music off the scale.

One riff doesn't make a great guitarist. He's no Eric Clapton or BB King. He just doesn't rate in this category.
