Popular Post georgegeorgia
Lately I have been thinking of re,-inventing myself now that I'm older than 60 I was coming home from work one evening last week ,sitting at a bus stop to see a guy shouting to himself and punching the air The person sitting next to me at the bus stop I overheard saying he needs a psychiatrist! And that got me thinking , as soon as I got home I started researching on how to be a psychiatrist and I stayed up all night and the very next morning at 8am on the dot called the University to try to find out how I can enrol Apparently it's a 6 year uni course it I wouldn't mind be called Doctor ! Doctor George , Consultant Psychiatrist! What about you ,did you "Re invent " yourself past 60 or when you retired? Talk to many bar owners in Thailand or Philippines etc and many were not in the bar industry previously but reinventing their lives Divorced ,traumas ,job lay offs ,many left their old life BEHIND Edited January 13 by georgegeorgia
Popular Post Nick Carter icp
Why would you use all that time effort and money to become a psychiatrist ? You wouldn't be able to put your new found skills to any use , apart form analysing people at bus stops 2

georgegeorgia
I think "visualisation" is the key Many bar owners obviously visualised whilst they were working their factory jobs etc back in their home country before they took control of a bar . I have visualised sitting on a leather seat with my leg crossed over my other one with a clipboard and pen listening to a patient and him calling me Doctor George

Even throw a Ph'd behind name if wanting. I'm what I always was, a smiling idiot who invest in RE, sideline in firearms, stocks. Salaried jobs didn't provide much, besides being temp jobs basically, so meaningless. Or I could go with photographer, drone operator. Lacessit
I re-invented myself when I moved to Thailand 12 years ago. I left Australia because I was stagnating, and did not like the feeling. I would not want to become a psychiatrist. Pathology is good, the patients don't need a bedside manner. I have enough problems understanding myself, let alone other people.
KhunLA
I couldn't be psychologist, as too ethical, and I'd have to commit myself, as an obvious danger to myself & society.
Sandboxer
Just turned 50 and been thinking of using my 30 year diving experience in a professional capacity instead of hobby, but apparently the only real money is in commercial saturation diving for oil companies, not muff diving.
