snoop1130
Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin’s decision to delay implementation of the controversial “digital wallet” scheme has added to people’s worries about the sluggish economy and has fuelled opposition criticism of his government’s lack of a coherent strategy in running the country. In an interview with Thai PBS World, deputy leader of the Move Forward party, Sirikanya Tansakul, faulted the five-month-old Srettha government for failing to provide clearly defined and measurable policy goals, which legislators could use to assess its performance. “I cannot grade Srettha’s performance because he never proposes measurable targets to Parliament. It is difficult to say if the Srettha administration passes or fails. The Srettha government has made efforts to attract more investors, but it seems that they do not have a clear strategy as to which business or sector they really want to attract. The government only goes with the flow, talks to whoever makes approaches,” Sirikanya said. Gknrd
Their strategy was set when the constitution was ratified with the last coup. Thailand will never be a democratic nation. And the path forward is follow China. Not much to worry about now. And too late for the Thai people to do anything about it. just hope for the best.

Popular Post rudi49jr
The only strategy most any government in Thailand has (or had) is for every cabinet member and PM to become as rich as possible as quickly as possible, by any means possible, i.e. bribes, kickbacks, fraud, extortion, embezzlement, or simply stealing.

jippytum
A blind man on a galloping horse would know the only stratagy this goverment has is to look after Thaksin and bribe voters as the main agenda. Mega costly Projects to line their pockets and recoup election expenses like the bridge to nowhere and the submarine will follow.
retarius
I think MF are correct. A strategy should be cohesive and span a lot of different situations. What we have with Srettha is a series of gimmicks like the land bridge, the digital wallet and so forth....it's not what you could really call a strategy. The sad thing about lacking a strategy, is that it also means you don't have any sort of plan. 1

Popular Post Mr Meeseeks
Strategy: 1. Bring Thaksin and Yingluck back into the fold without either having to spend a day in jail. 2. Stab MFP in the back and neuter them through the courts so they cannot be an effective opposition in the future. 3. Work with the unelected senate to ensure that corruption, cronyism, nepotism, and graft continue unabated. 4. Initiate unworkable and unaffordable populist policies to buy off the electorate and keep them distracted. 5. Revenge on those that crossed Thaksin in the past, including the Buriram Mafia. 2

Eric Loh
I will be surprise if the opposition think out loud that Sretha government has a good strategy. They not called the opposition for nothing.
