A few days ago, I was at the hospital for the extraction of a tooth.
As usual, they took my temperature, Pulse and Blood pressure prior to the extraction.
The reading was 135/45.
The dentist adviced me to go to see a Cardiolog ASAP as 45 was way too low.
He adviced me also to eat more salty foods to make my blood pressure go up a little bit.
After all these years, avoiding salt intake and taking a lot of medication to get my blood pressure down, I was adviced to eat salty food again.
Something sounds wrong here.

Eat more salty food at the risk of rising your Systolic BP which is already marginally high.
Go see a cardiologist.
If you are taking prostate medication for an enlarged prostate it can interfere with you Diastolic BP (yours at 45).
This is out of the Healthline article I linked:
Try to keep your salt intake to around 1,500–2,300 milligrams per dayTrusted Source , according to the American Heart Association. Read food labels to avoid added salt in your diet.  (That's 1.5 to 2.3 grams is about 1/2 teaspoon.)
That does not sound like a recommendation to up your salt intake.

And buy a BP monitor.  One reading is not conclusive of anything.  Start taking your BP a few time during the day at set time and keep a record.   I had a doctor in the US give me BP med for HBP due to one reading in her office.  I was highly athletic.  I bought a monitor.  My BP average was as low normal as can be.  I stopped seeing that doctor.

Best of luck.

Welcome to the Club,

Also beyond me mine is all over the place for last few weeks,

At 11:30 BP 101/57 this morning but at 7:30 was 135/67 also low so did not take my BP Meds  yet it still kept going down.. ?  bed time so checked it just now 123/71 so OK to go to bed... at the weekend passing out was down to 63/49  !!  so many days this month have not taken any BP Meds at all other day cutting My Med's in halve....... Have a full detailed list for the Dr on Friday...

If you have not got one, then buy a BP Monitor I have had one for years and before any Med's always take a reading = know how much med's I need.

If it is not Blood pressure then it Blood Sugar is all over the place last few weeks mostly way to low + often not taken my Insulin or just part of my daily units  again a BS Monitor is a must if your Diabetic my monitor give me an idea of how much Insulin I need to take

Maybe it is the joys of being old ?  BS + BP problems for 33 years

I check my Blood Sugar lever every day and write the results in an Excell file with a link to a second page with the details of the food and drinks I took that day.
I have been able to get my Blood Sugar to an acceptable level and cancel my Blood Sugar medicine.

But I rarely checked my Blood Pressure at home (despite that I have a good Blood Pressure device).

Yes same here I check my Blood Sugar level every morning and evening and write the results in an Excel file with BP readings with a link to a second page with the details of the food and drinks I had that day.  I am always near last to see the Dr as she takes time reading the daily reports

I have type 1.5 Lada Diabetes .  my HbA1c level has been around 6.0 - 6.3 for some years

Actually your systol8c blood pressure (top number)  is borderline high.

As for the diastolic (bottom number), most likely just an error.  In some people the sound continues past the true diastolic level (sometimes even all the way to 0). There is a  shift in volume which denotes where the true diastolic value is, but only an experienced human  practitioner will detect this...not machines and not mediocre staff.

Do not increase salt intake and do not take BP/ cardiac advice from a dentist.

No harm in seeing a cardiologist to be sure, but if you can, first get your BP taken the old fashioned way (stethoscope and  manometer)  by an experienced human. May well rurn out that yoyr diastolic is actually normal or even a bit high.

I go every month to the military hospital to check my blood and get my medication (kidney specialist).

First, the nurses measure my blood pressure and my pulse with the usual machines.

Every time I have a high blood pressure.

When it is my turn to visit the kidney doctor, he measures my blood pressure with a stethoscope, and my blood pressure is normal.

I don't trust the machines anymore.

I have an appointment next week and will discuss the matter with him.

In the mean time no change of medication or food habits.

I too had my blood pressure taken at a dental clinic. It appeared to be high,so I hopped on a songthaew and went to the local lhospital and had it atken by a very pleasant nurse using a cuff and stethoscope. I was normal!.

I remember having my blood pressure checked at RAM dental clinic in Chiang Mai about ten years ago, with a battery-operated portable. I knew it was wrong, as I had had a blood pressure check the day before on a big machine at Rajavej.

When I looked at the back of the portable, the calibration sticker was 5 years old.

As Sheryl says, the only really trustworthy measurement is an experienced person with a stethoscope and manometer.

Just got back from the Hospital....  on the BP Machine 122/64,  did ask the Dr. she called a Nurse that did it with stethoscope and manometer = 118/58.... So I was correct in reducing Med's myself on the odd days or missing them altogether..

The only odd thing have been reducing the Insulin myself as often to low, yet this morning at Hospital was Blood Test was103.. but the  HbA1c was up to 7.1 !!

All the other test were fine and well in range

i would have thought lowering insulin if diabetic would make hba1c higher?
