Pattaya — A Thai man tragically drowned at Jomtien Beach on Thursday, January 25th, after he waded into the sea possibly while drunk.

The incident was reported at 4:00 PM, prompting the deployment of a rescue team and Pattaya police. The scene unfolded near the Now Hotel along Jomtien Beach Road in Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province.

Upon arrival, authorities discovered the lifeless body of Mr. Pornchai Raksa, a 56-year-old Thai man, lying on the shore, clad only in shorts. After a preliminary examination and documentation of the scene, authorities were approached by Mr. Pornchai’s younger brother, 52-year-old Mr. Pornthep Raksa. Mr. Pornthep informed officers that he had come to identify his deceased brother’s body.
